Rest in peace, Mom

Yesterday would’ve been my mother’s 94th birthday had she not died Jan. 1st 2007.  Not a day goes by without me thinking of her at least once.   When she’d visit me we would spend our evenings sitting near the pond enjoying each others company.

While I was visiting my Aunts and cousins a couple of weeks ago we  talked about her and my father.   They had some wonderful memories to share.

Happy Birthday, Mom.  I put some  roses by the pond for you.

  1. What a lovely piece. My father died 27 years ago and my mother18 years, but I still have times when I want to share something with them, especially on those “special occasions” like Jennie’s wedding and the births of my grandsons, but I like to think that they are there somewhere close. We have to be so thankful for the wonderful memeories times we have of them.
Hope the cough is getting better.

    • Wanting to share special things…yes, that’s when it’s most difficult not having Mom or my baby sister around. The two of them always were as enthusiastic about my special things as I was and shared in the joy.

The cough is down to one coughing fit a day now.

  2. Happy birthday to your mom! I bet the roses are beautiful

    Thanks for you nice note.

  3. So lovely to have others with whom to share your love. I can picture your mother enjoying her roses in your beautiful back yard. I too go outside when I want to feel closer to those I have loved.
