Enough snow already.

the pond is somewhere out there--follow the pawprints

We’ve had quite a snowstorm come through here.  It finally stopped around 2 a.m.  I, being the fool that I am, went outside and shoveled.  I shoveled, and I shoveled, and by gum I shoveled some more.  I completed a 150 foot+ long by 3 foot wide path through snow about one foot deep.  (Okay, officially it was only 4 to 5 inches deep here but at 3 a.m. it sure looked like a foot of snow.)  It’s legal, I’m pooped, and I know I’m gonna feel it when I wake up.

     Dear Mother Nature,

We have enough snow for a white Christmas, so when people are wishing for one, please don’t listen.  We have enough snow for sledding, so when the children ask for more, please don’t listen.  Since Dave so gleefully E-mailed me about let it snow, let it snow, etc.  IF you must dump more snow around here, please target Dave’s house and skip mine.  (Quit laughing Lee, you’re next on my list.)

     Sincerely,

     MWH

By the way everyone, today is Elena’s birthday.  Happy Birthday E!

  1. Oh I like your idea of snow targets for Mother Nature. Indeed, all those folks dreaming of white white holy days can have them and the clearing of all that white stuff to themselves.

  2. First thing this morning, I had to shovel out a poop trail for my dog. It pooped me out.

    Those numbers are looking good.

  3. Sure is pretty though!

  4. Oooooooooooooh, so very true. The cold can take a vacation too, as far as I’m concerned.

  5. I’m glad i live here in N.M. instead of back east i was watching the news & saw the snowfall take care & if you want you can send a little snow & i do mean a little this way

  6. This is a really great blog, I’m enjoying the run up to Christmas with a bit more time on my hands to browse the net and your site is one I intend to visit again soon. In the olden days we would chill out with a read of the daily paper, now I really think people should take an hour out of their day to read some random blog posts and expand their knowledge on new and fascinating subjects. Keep up your writing.

  7. I think I’d rather there were targets for rain rather than snow, and then we could build up the level of water in our cisterna!

  8. 47-Yes, I know of few places I’d send the snow…mwahahaha

Ramona-We’ve had to dig paths for the pups on occasion so I know what you mean. 😉

Jackie-At least it doesn’t snow as early or stay as long here as it does in CO.

Jim-That’s a dangerous thing to say I might send some along to you. 😉

    Tooth-thanks for stopping by.

Jan-I hope you get enough water to fill your cisterna.

  9. We are supposed to get the White Christmas starting sometime on Wed. Right now as I type this and look at the weather thingy down in the corner of my computer it is 43 degrees and supposedly getting up to 53. Our weather has been nuts, 50 degrees or higher then a day of barely 32 then back to 50’s then cold and snowy. Ahhhh, global warming at it’s best. 🙂

You are going to be so close to winning soon and I really hope you win.

  10. I can almost taste that dinner!
