There will be coffee

G and I stayed at the house until almost six last night.  We finished sorting and marking everything.  She worked on one section while I worked on clearing the tools out of the tool chests.  I now have two large empty tool chests ready to sell (not cheap) and a bunch of tools (going cheap).

We did have a couple of early shoppers from Craig’s list who had contacted me by e-mail and I told them they could come while we were there on Wednesday.  We added some more cash to the ‘paint the house’ fund.  Hooray!

DH plans to bring us lunches on Saturday and Sunday.  G has to leave an hour early on Saturday so for the last hour I’ll be depending on the neighbor to take care of business in the basement while I work the upstairs.

Knowing what little sleep I’ll get this weekend I’ve already made plans to have a pot of coffee going all day both days, so if you’re in the area, drop on in.  The coffee is on me.

Good news and more

I’ve already had some inquiries into items we have listed for the house clean out on Craig’s list.  It would be exciting to have many people show up and buy, buy, buy.  We sure do want to have the house empty, empty, empty so the painters can come.

Yesterday I spent the day attempting to catch up on a few household chores.  DH is happy that he has clean clothes.  The fish are happy now that they’ve had their filters backwashed and fresh water added to the pond.  The pups were thrilled that they had me to tease and harass non-stop all day.

The gardens are happy since I watered.  I do need to buy some mulch so they don’t dry as fast as they have been.  Once I’m done over at the MIL’s house, I will do that.

Three cheers!!!

I posted the house clean out sale on Craig’s list.  I can’t believe we’re almost done with this!  Eight months of hard work is FINALLY coming to an end.  WHOOHOO!!!

Almost done!

Another day of setting things up and marking them for the sale and with only one more day for us to work on it we think we’ve done quite well.  The ninth and tenth will get here before we know it.

We sorted through some lovely old linen table cloths, napkins, lace doilies, cut work lace, and other assorted goodies marking them as we went along.  We have them displayed in the master bedroom.

I hope the Lane chest sells for a decent price.  The sofa and lounge chair are like new and are rather modestly priced so they ‘should’ sell.  The small chest freezer is new, we bought it for his mother, and she only used it for a few months.

We found a ton of old records that we have set up in boxes, which makes it easy to flip through the titles.  The number of cookbooks we put out for sale for someone who was mediocre cook amazed us.

I hope someone wants the two tool chests in the basement.  We have no place to put them in our home.

We’ll be back over there on Wednesday to finish setting up and marking things.  Then on Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be ready to go at nine in the morning.  This means I won’t be getting any sleep until Monday.

A little rain for the gardens

It rained last night so I went outside afterwards to check the gardens.  We could’ve used more.  I’ll probably have to water again today.  We have several small cucumbers and eight tiny tomatoes.  Now if only the eggplants would begin to produce.

While I was out there, I managed to startle one of new frogs.  He was out of the pond and hunting near our shed.  These frogs are as quick on land as they are in the water.  There’s plenty of good cover by the shed and he took advantage of it.  He was gone in a flash.

I do need to take the camera out and get some garden shots.  I’ve neglected taking pictures so far this year and missed the Iris and lily blooms.  Now the new day lilies are in bloom, the tomato plants cucumbers, and eggplants are growing quite large.

I want to sit down and relax

Whew, this has been a busy week.  The only days I spent at home were Monday and Tuesday.  Monday was hectic at home with the work being done on the chimney and DH having a bad day.  Tuesday I tried to catch up on my cleaning with no great success there.  I did manage to get the bathroom scrubbed all but the floor.

On Wednesday, I spent the day over at the house and came home almost too exhausted to cook dinner.

Thursday I ran around all day doing errands.  I grocery shopped, unloaded the car, and put everything away.  That shot the day and when I had a chance to sit down it was dinnertime.

I spent Friday running here and there.  Patty got rambunctious when I was snapping the leash on her collar and sprained my pinkie.

I hope I can relax today because tomorrow it’s back to the house for another day of marking stuff, setting things up, and making sure everything looks good.

Coins…a punny story

I had help with my blog tonight.  Good thing too since I was too tired to think straight.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Mint announced that a new fifty-cent piece was being issued to honor two great American patriots.

On one side of the coin would be Teddy Roosevelt and on the other side, Nathan Hale.

Asked why two people were going to be on the same coin, the spokesman replied, “Now, when you toss a coin you can simply call…. ‘Ted’s or Hale’s’.”

Thanks Jimjim, I needed the giggle.
