Dinner sucked

last night’s dinner was a poor choice but both of us were too damned tired to care.  Beanie Weenies were fine.  Not every meal around here is going to be heart healthy perfect.

Hopefully, we’ll make up for it the rest of the week.  We are doing the best we can but when you’re too tired you are too tired.  We looked like two marionettes on broken strings by the time dinner rolled around.

I do wish the local chain pizza places offered a heart healthy pizza, but that’d be too much to hope for wouldn’t it?

  1. I have to ask … what on earth are Beanie Weenies? On this side of the Pond, a beanie is a woollen hat so I now have an image of the pair of you tucking into spaghetti a la yarn or knitted food…

LOL! That’s some image it conjures for you. Beanie weenies= Canned beans (in our case Bush’s Grillin’ Beans) with hot dogs cut up into them. See? Not very healthy.

  2. Hi sweetie – I know when Devoted Spouse had his heart attack…I started out with the best of intentions for his diet…but over the past few years we’ve both slipped back into some unhealthy habits. It’s difficult to make healthy food a priority when you’re dog tired – look at all you’ve been doing lately. I’d probably order a pizza – but with a thin crust and lots of veggies – that’s not unhealthy if it’s eaten as a treat, not a regular meal. The problem with trying to “be” healthy is it takes a concerted effort on our part – and we’re all too satisfied to eat something fast, or not do our exercise — overly busy lives. Sigh… Stay strong, keep your head up – it’s going to get better. Thinking of you, xo Linda

It’s not terrible just a bit frustrating when I want to do things and the body says nope, you’re not going to. At least I do cook good meals most days…LOL!

  3. Ask them to make your pizza with light cheese.

  4. I like my personal trainer’s idea of eating healthy – eat healthy 80% of the time , and what ever you’ve been missing moderately 20% of the time. Removes a large emotional burden while still keeping your progress going.

Try asking the pizza place, but do have suggestions in mind preferably using ingredients they carry. There are several places here that have heard the message and even Subway is now offering their goodies as salads.

More and more businesses are catching on and catching up.

And is it any wonder since the number of people in this age group is so high? LOL! This reminds me, I need to find something to make for dinner tonight….
