If looks could kill…

This was Patty at the vet’s office.  Patty was not happy.  Patty is real good at giving stink-eye.

I’m happy to say that she is feeling better and actually ate breakfast yesterday.  She was eager for her dinner too.

Now all we have to do is wait for her blood test result on Monday to see if we have anything going on we don’t know about.

You all have a good one!

I can do without the snow and ice.

We did have a few days of unseasonably warm weather and of course that tends to lull one into a false sense of security.  I hadn’t as yet put the liner in my good jacket and had taken my hoodie out of my old jacket again so I could wear just the hoodie in the ‘warmer’ weather.

In the last hour the temperature dropped ten degrees and shows no sign of stopping.

Even though it has turned to plain old rain again, I know that in a few more hours there’s ice, sleet, and snow in store for us.  Yuck.  At least Texas got snow before we did.  😉

A foggy night…I love it!

When I took the garbage out, I had to stop and take in the sight of the heavy fog blocking out anything half a block away.  I do love when the fog cloaks the cemetery.  Shades of Bela Lugosi!  You almost expect him to walk up and tap you on the shoulder.

Two a.m. and the temperature is up to fifty-seven degrees, the warmest it has been all day…um …well, night.  Strange weather we’re having for sure.

Yesterday afternoon the fog wasn’t as dense but still had us pretty well socked in.

She doesn’t want to go out now…

Another dog post?!  Yes, I guess it has been one of those weeks.

My neighbor’s little bitty rat terrier chihuahua mix dog managed to get herself locked out of the house (in their fenced in yard) yesterday.  We’re glad the weather wasn’t bad and the temperature was above 50 degrees.

The Curmudgeon, once he realized that she was outside and no one was home, called the three, in case of emergency numbers, we have for them  while I attempted to get her to come to me.  She refused and kept running away, foolish girl, she could have spent the day in a warm crate tormenting Patty and Gavin.

At last we got a phone call and was told someone would be home shortly to take care of her.  Not long after that, the neighbor’s daughter appeared and the little dog was inside and happy.  Later in the evening my neighbor came over to thank us and told us the little dog had no desire to go out at the moment.   😉  I wouldn’t either if I were her.

Soft bully, warm bully….

Patty discovered the new throw.  It is very soft, furry, and warm.  She likes it.  She never sits on the couch with me and yet, when she discovered this fabulous new throw, she leapt upon the couch and somersaulted into the throw rolling herself into doggy burrito.

Gavin’s green-eyed-monster raised its head and he joined us on the couch.

No one knew what they were for…

Years ago, when we used to put up a tree for the holiday, we came up with a clever arrangement to keep the tree from tumbling to floor when the resident cat or dogs wanted to mess with it.  We lost a few trees to cats who climbed them, or dogs who want to play around them, or both.

We got smart and ran wire from the two decorative rings on the wall to the tree.  Never lost a tree after that.  😉

RIP to both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas

My opinion may not be popular, but I feel so sorry for the family and friends  left behind to grieve, and angry that they, yes I said they,  pulled such stunt that endangered others. Two grown men were in the car and had to be in agreement to the reckless act for it to happen.

I find it very sad that Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, men old enough to know better, are dead because they thought that a car was a toy to be played with and were speeding on a public street.
