Adventures in writing… experiment #2

HPIM3570

     First Sentence stick pick:

After only two months, Helen decided to become an exotic dancer.

College life didn’t suit her.  She loved seedy bars and raunchy men.  Yes, there was something wrong, deeply wrong inside her.

Her first kill made her feel whole.  Finding another victim never became a problem in her profession.  With her tits and ass she could crook a finger and they’d come running to the slaughter.

As she tied his hands to the headboard she told him about her other victims and what she would do to him.  His heart leapt about in his chest like a heifer on a rope.

“I actually went to the cops more than once.  They just stared at my tits.”

     Drew a Non Sequitur stick.

“There you go making up lies again.”

“That’s what they told me the last time.”

It’s fun to walk in there, tell them what I did, and have them not care or believe me.

Ends second experiment.

Writing experiment #1

Two new books and The Writer’s Toolbox, time to see if I can jump start my writing.  Using The Writer’s Toolbox today.

HPIM3570

I drew one of the The First Sentence Sticks.

I was dressed in a completely inappropriate shade of pink.

I didn’t give an effing damn and I thought the stiletto heels and neon green, marabou feather boa were a good touch too.

My family didn’t want me at my Mother’s funeral, so I figured I’d shake them up.  I had no fear and no regrets after what they did to me.  They’d cut me off from her for years.

Who doesn’t tell a family member about their mother’s death and funeral until the night before when said person lives a thousand miles away?   Thank the heavens my lover owned his own jet and they didn’t know about him.  No one keeps Jimmy Flynn from his mother.  I sucked in a chest popping breath and stepped out of the stretched limo.

End of first experiment.

Every day is new throw of the dice.

Over the next several weeks I will be experimenting with my writing in hopes to hit a new groove and get my books finished.  So be prepared for some nonsense and, I hope, fun.

I have been in such a horrible brain freeze for almost a year now, and that frightens me.  I don’t know if it’s my medications or just the stress of daily life here at Casa Doggonedmysteries.

Stress like today.  I hear The Curmudgeon’s voice come over the phone which wakes me with a jolt.  Then, with heart pounding and adrenalin taking a quick jog though my system, I dashed to downstairs to find him on the kitchen floor.  I couldn’t get him up.

Once I made him comfortable, I dashed back upstairs to get dressed, and then ran over to get the neighbor to help.  He got The Curmudgeon up and to his chair.  We haven’t had a day like this since he started the new medication.  I hope this is an aberration.

Later, he was able to go upstairs and climb into bed for a long rest.  After midnight, he came back downstairs and seemed much improved.  Let’s hope the improvement continues.

You all have a good one.

Already?

That came around fast!   I can’t believe I have to go get my driver’s license renewed already.  At least they send it to you early enough to plan on having the hair cut before getting the picture done.

Seems like I just had it done.  Last time the picture was worse than the time before I looked like a rotting hairball.  I hope this time it’s better because I’ll be stuck with it until 2018.

Does anyone ever like their driver’s license picture?  Do you like yours?

You all have a good one.

Face Off, a new season.

I shouldn’t have been surprised that Face Off immediately addicted me the first season.  I love watching the creation of creatures and characters.

Last night a new season began and thanks to the DVR and being able to set a reminder and have it even switch to the channel I didn’t miss it.

Looking forward to the next episodes.

Happy Birthday Curmudgeon!!!

Old memories.

I remember the time my Dad broke his leg.  An enthusiastic airman had waxed the heck out of the chapel floor and Dad happened to unknowingly stride on the glass like surface.  From the telling of it, it seems that Dad went for quite a sail.

Laid up in bed for a time, he was a great source of amusement for his daughters.  We’d never had him home all day every day.  Heck, there were times he’d be gone for weeks, traveling off to some exotic place from where he’d bring us each a doll.   (I’ll never see them again.)

We got to read to him for a change.  I’m sure he was very happy when his leg healed and he could escape back into the real word.

Migraines suck.

“I’ll tell them.”

“No, let me.”

“You got to last time.”

“We can both tell them.”

“Momma has a migraine.  She hasn’t had one in years.  She will see you all tomorrow.”

Pouring rain and dogs…

Not a good mix, at least around here.  The Curmudgeon had a rough time shoving them outside in the morning.  Neither one wanted to brave the very wet outdoors.  Bull Terriers think they might melt in the rain.  It’s easier to get them out in a blizzard.

When I got up, they were down for their naps.  Every day without fail they insist on their naps…well, at least Gavin does.  He will scream at you until you close his crate door and cover him.

They were slow getting up from their naps too.  Could it be because it was still pouring and they knew they’d have to go out again?  You betcha!

HPIM3469Get up and go out?  Nope.

Ah yes, more lovely weather

It snowed all night, when I woke it was still snowing, not much accumulation though.  Long day of snow, no snow, rain, fog and now freezing rain.

Please, please, please tell me Spring is almost here.  Hell, lie to me!  I don’t care.  I do not like this weather.

I’ll buy stuff but…

I have serious doubts as to me ever doing another online auction as a donator of items, at least not in the winter months.

We had more delays in getting the stuff in the mail than I care to admit.  The weather being a major portion of the hold ups.  Blizzard, icy roads, and the temperature dipping below freezing.

The last delay was the cold knocking my van’s battery out of commission and leaving me stranded.  Finally got the car going and managed to get the packages in the mail.

You all have a good one!

The high yesterday was 21…

Which is where it is now.    Wow, we’re having a heat wave!

I think I’ll hibernate until spring.  I hate this weather.  You all have a good one.  I think I’ll build a snowman…

Die winter

Lately I’ve been watching the strangest TV shows

One of my favorites is Dr. Pol.  Watching a vet make farm calls and take care of small animals.  I worked for vet for a while.  The clinic was only for small animals, I think a clinic like Dr. Pol’s presents more challenges for sure.  I love National Geo Wild channel.

I also enjoy watching the Science channel.  Morgan Freeman narrating anything is great.

I’ve also discovered that I don’t care for a lot of shows on a lot of channels.  That’s to be expected, I’m not a TV nut like The Curmudgeon.

You all have a good one!
