Lazy day pictures from my garden
Posted by doggonedmysteries
With all the rain, my garden is in dire need of weeding and mulching. I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
The front porch looks pretty nice too.

Shark week and shark fest
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Okay, someone explain to me my need to watch these shows.
I keep flipping between the channels.
Sharks have always given me the creeps and that’s why I don’t understand why I am watching these shows!
Okay, yeah, those are wolves on the screen, but if I took a picture now it’d be sharks up there.

Stress relief…or I love you but…

Ever have one of those days where you just can’t stand the sound of the other half’s voice for one more minute?
Yeah, that was me the last two days.
My solution for days like that is to pull out the MP3 player and pop in the head phones.
Music = mini vacation.

Updates to begin the week
Posted by doggonedmysteries
One good thing all the rain we’re having is doing. It is stopping the idiots from setting off fireworks. We can only hope that their enthusiasm for blowing things up wanes and peace continues. If we’re real lucky, all they have left got wet.
Lucy is happy.
Three more days of rain predicted.
Fourth injection of Rebif for The Curmudgeon. He actually drove himself to his pain management appointment. He is still having trouble walking but not as visibly as before. Let’s hope this continues.
The damned squirrels ate all the plum tomatoes and most of the regular ones even with the plants caged in chicken wire. Picture below taken before I put up the chicken wire.

Again? You want out again?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Oh yeah, The Curmudgeon did his third injection of Rebiff. Not sure if we’re seeing any results yet. However, with him it is difficult to tell if he’s improving or not since he spends most of his time sitting in his damned chair watching TV.
Don’t mind me this was one of those days where I felt like everyone’s slave.
Is it any wonder that I don’t get any writing done these days?
My butt would no sooner hit a chair and one of the dogs or The Curmudgeon wanted me to do something for them. I have so much I need to do but they have me running in circles so much I can’t even catch my breath much less catch up on things.

Happy 4th?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I hope you all had a good fourth of July. We certainly did not.
The thugs down the street thought it was so much fun to set off a gazillion heavy duty fireworks day and night and scare the crap out of all the neighborhood pets.
Gavin wasn’t bothered in the least but he’s always been bomb proof since he was a pup. On the other hand, poor Lucy spent the day and night terrified and wouldn’t even go pee when taken outside. I fear we may have a wet floor by morning.
Yes, I am wishing to move again, still, …whatever. I am no longer happy with this neighborhood, city, or state. I yearn a quiet place.

I’ll never grow up
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Yesterday found me in Target with G. As we walked past the toy section, I spotted MINIONS.
So there I was pushing buttons to make them talk and move. Playing with goggles I looked to the other side of the display and the sounds of an angelic chorus sang in my head when I found the fart blaster!
I want one.
It had us giggling. I need to giggle a lot.

Second injection of Rebif.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Woke to The Curmudgeon on the phone again. “I’m down in the back yard. Can you come and help me up?”
Told him to wait for me to get dressed. I was NOT going outside in my PJs.
I quickly dressed, closed my bedroom window, turned on my bedroom AC, turned off the whole house fan, turned on the other upstairs air conditioner, closed the window in his room and headed downstairs. I closed the front door, turned on the AC in the living room, grabbed his walker, and headed out to the backyard to find him.
Didn’t have to go far. He and Lucy were right outside the back door. She was patiently sitting beside him.
He said she nudged him from time to time, “get up Daddy!” I manged to get him in the house without injuring my back again. Yay me.
He did his second injection of Rebif in the evening. Now we wait to see how he is with two injections under his belt.
Lucy spent the rest of the day keeping an eye The Curmudgeon.

Freaky weather
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Wow, strange weather yesterday. All around us, we saw on TV, that high winds took out trees, some looked twisted, so I’m betting it wasn’t only high winds.
We were lucky we just had monsoon rains and hail the size of golf balls.
Lucy had no desire to go outside in the monsoon no matter how badly she needed to pee. Poor girl held it for hours.
Gavin didn’t care, if he had to go, he went out and went.
The Curmudgeon napped through it all. He sort of looked like Lucy here.
