I need a whole new routine…

Thursday:

Finish doing laundry 4:30 a.m.

Crawl on the couch to fall asleep with Lucy around 5 a.m. (the silly dog snores.)

6 a.m. wake to the sound of The Curmudgeon struggling, call 911 to have someone come help to get The Curmudgeon off the floor and into his bed.

When the adrenaline dissipates, try going back to the couch.

8 a.m. take dogs out because Gavin is whining.

Back to couch.

Alarm goes off at 10 a.m.  feed dogs, take them out.

Try the couch again.

2 p.m. Alarm goes off for me to take my pills. Wake to find The Curmudgeon in his chair and Gavin whining to go out.

Then there’s dinner to cook, dogs to feed and take out…

Friday:

Other than the 911 call the day is essentially the same until I try for a nap around 2 p.m.

Loud crash from upstairs gets my adrenaline pumping and I run up the stairs.

He fell… claims he’s okay.

Heart pounding, I go back downstairs to quell the racing pulse and try for that nap.

Unsuccessful, I try reading to calm me down. It works somewhat.

Later, cook dinner, feed dogs and take them out, feed us.

I am so tired of running on coffee and adrenaline.

The acid test?

We are well into our first real snow storm of the season.

The back doors have passed the acid test.

No snow on my back porch.

Yippee.

Our next necessary major expense is a new oil tank. We’ve been warned for a couple of years now that ours is going into its death throes.

We also need new windows on the back porch…new front doors…flooring…painting done…new lights, walls, ceilings, bathroom update…

Oh eff it, we need a new house.

I pray I win the HGTV house so we can survive.

So so tired

I can’t understand why I am so tired all the time.

Thyroid test came back normal, and yet I am sleepy every minute of the day.

I sit for a few minutes only to find myself dozing off. My eyes slam shut and I am asleep in seconds.

Go to bed and I am wide awake. Go fig.

My so-called normal these days is to sleep a few hours, wake to take dogs out, go back to sleep for a few hours, wake to my alarm at 10 a.m.

I feed the dogs, have some coffee, take the dogs out, and fall asleep for a few hours.

Rinse and repeat that for the rest of the day. I haven’t the energy to get anything done.

Had all the rain we’ve had been snow…

We’d be buried in it.

I’m happy for the rain.

I’m glad we didn’t get snow.

I happy to have this weird winter.

I don’t like snow.

That’s another hour I’ll never get back

It takes me over an hour to set up The Curmudgeon’s pills for the month. I’m not counting how long I stand in line to get all his medications.

Did two days early on and did all of the rest last night.

I was waiting for a prescription to get filled. Had to pick it up yesterday. I do believe I spend half of my time at our local CVS.

Seriously folks, if you take a lot of medications in a day go get this at Amazon.com. It makes things so much easier.

And then there were two…

Two days into the new year…

New neighbors moved in across the street. We can only hope that they are better than the last ones.

The dogs are getting used to the new back doors. Both managed to bean themselves on the noggins a few times.

Now I stand on the bottom step and block them from trying to come in under the door.
