Get control…

More children died, more teachers died protecting them as best they could.

Another domestic terrorist described as a disturbed, young, white teenager.

Our Republican congress bows to their god $$$$$$ and does nothing.

Thoughts and prayers are as useless as tits on a boar.

Another dreary day…

So this time, since it was a day the farmers market was opened, G and I made a quick trip over there.

So many lovely things to choose from too.

I made a stop at the Mediterranean stand and got some more of their tasty arugula and thinly sliced pear salad with spiced pecans and a special dressing. Yum! I also got a container of cyber salad (cucumber, tomato, onion, balsamic vinegar, oregano, and olive oil.

You can check out their website at www.mediterraneanfoodpa.com

Next stop was the New York Pickle stand. I picked up a small container of horseradish dills. http://www.allentownfarmersmarket.com/new-york-pickle/

Next stop I picked out three huge peppers 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 orange to slice up into strips and freeze. Many uses for them.

Finally I went to the stand where I get The Curmudgeon his raspberry cookies (similar to fig newtons but much much better.)

So many shops to drool over, so many samples to try,  no wonder we love to go each week.

One of these days I’ll indulge in something from Eight Oaks Craft Distillers.

If you are ever in town on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday stop by the farmers market you won’t regret it.

If it wasn’t so darned rainy…

I’d get my weed eater out and get the yard trimmed around and in the former pond area. I’d also try to get my weeding and trimming done.

Then there’s going out to The Curmudgeon’s truck to get the odometer reading so I can get his truck registration done. They’re starting a 2 year registration. That sure would save me some time. I will definitely do it with my van. Sort of debating doing it for the truck since I’m not sure how much longer he’ll be doing any driving.

I’d also be going for walks in the park if it were dry. Then there’s fishing…I’d be doing that when I could too.

Rain, rain go away…

Wow, that was quite a storm!

I had a 3:00 p.m. dentist appointment. The room where my dental hygienist cleans my teeth is located on a second floor and has big windows with a nice view.

When I arrived the sky was still a bit blue with a few gathering clouds.

When she was finished and my periodontist ended his exam, the sky was very gray to black and the wind had kicked up…a lot.

By the time I’d paid my bill and made it to the parking lot the wind was even stronger. Fallen petals from the decorative cherry trees swirled in the air like a pink blizzard.

Thank goodness my house is only 21 blocks away.

I made it home before the rain began, before the thunder and lightning scared the beejeezis out of Lucy so I was able to take her out so she could pee.

When it hit it hit with a vengeance. Thunder crashed and lightning lit the sky.

Thank goodness I’d ordered a pizza to be delivered at 5. However, he called from the car to let us know he there but planned to sit a few minutes to see if we got a lull in the heavy rain. We did.

Another rainy day of climbing the walls

At least on clear days I can go outside and get away from The Curmudgeon when he’s driving me ’round the bend.

Two days of rain has me ready to go out of my mind.

Lucy isn’t thrilled either.

Spent all of Sunday watching Decades TV network they had the old Father Dowling series on in marathon mode. I’d forgotten about that series.

If I were alone…

I wouldn’t live here.

I’d be somewhere other than this country. These days I am ashamed to live here.

I would be on a beach far away.

Day 3 with the wrist monitor…

The monitor claims I had 5h 11m of sleep yesterday, quality-excellent.

It woke me at 10 a.m. –so glad it doesn’t have a snooze alarm. Having one on the cell phone is enough.

I was on the go so much all day that it didn’t have to nudge me once.

Yet I still did not reach my step goal.

We added a new TV to the household. So happy with Coughlin’s TV. We’ve bought TVs from them before. This time, The Curmudgeon just phoned them and asked to have a new one delivered. They did, they connected it all up, and they took the old, dead one away.

Day two with Ifitness…

I haven’t thrown it across the room yet.

It buzzed my arm at 10 a.m. but I didn’t need the additional alarm because Lucy had me up well before my alarms went off.

I’d already taken my pills when it buzzed my arm to remind me to take them.

I was deeply engrossed in my book when the gentle buzzing on my arm nagged me to get up and move I’d been sedentary for too long.

Throwing it across the room was tempting, instead I got up and moved about for a bit.

Day 1 of Ifitness monitor

It buzzed my arm somewhere around 6 a.m.

Me: “WTF!” Back to sleep.

Lucy gives me the stink eye. Then she decided she needed to go out at 8 a.m. Took her out, crawled back on the couch to finish sleeping until my alarm went off at 10 a.m.

Monitor didn’t bother monitoring my sleep when I went back to sleep. Going to have to find a solution to that and the buzzing of my arm at 6.

Total deep sleep 3h 39m.

It gave me a frowny face for that. Everyone has an opinion.

Today I added to my fitness paraphernalia

I found an Ifitness monitor (regularly $65.00) on sale for $29.99.

Took me the rest of the day and half the night to get it up and running properly.

This should be interesting because I have it set up to ‘push me’ when I am sedentary for more than 60 minutes.

I wonder how long it will take before I throw it across the room. Y’all can set up a pool on that one. LOL!

This little wrist band of wonder is also supposed to be able to monitor my sleep. This too should prove to be interesting.0509180246
