It all sucks.
I know I am not alone when I say I have some days where I wonder, ‘Why bother?”
Those days where crawling out of bed hardly seems worth it.
I do believe if Lucy wasn’t there snuggling up and hoping I’ll soon get her her breakfast, I wouldn’t bother getting up.
The struggle is real folks.
I look around at everything that needs to be done, I feel the weight of it all settle on my shoulders, and it makes getting up a chore. It drains my energy before my feet hit floor.
I am often bitter and angry at The Curmudgeon for, even though he”s still here, leaving me, leaving me with no support, with no joy, no reason to bother with it all.
Good thing I love her…
I was at the vets today to pick up two of Lucy’s medications.
One for her slightly leaky bladder. Proin, it works great. She takes a half a tablet a day and her prescription lasts quite a while. And she doesn’t leak.
Unfortunately it needed refilling at the same time her 6 doses of Simparica (flea and tick med.) needed refilling.
Therefore the bill was quite high.
Yep, good thing I love her so much…
Back to a desk top
And loving it!
The Curmudgeon finally replaced my desk top that he got hacked and turned into a huge paper weight.
I am so happy to have my large screen monitor with print large enough I don’t need to tilt my head back to use the bifocals to read it. Thus sparing me neck pain.
I don’t have to sit leaning forward, I can lean back in my chair and relax.
So happy!
Compare the lap top screen with my large monitor.
It’s official…
I am signed up for Medicare and Social Security. I am officially old a senior citizen almost 65.
It took us two hours to get everything done, including me making a mad dash back home for my typed, delicate from age paper, 2 page birth certificate from Japan, which I was told I would not need. I was told that my official US State Department issued birth certificate was enough. Nope. They needed to see the typed one too.
I was told to bring our wedding license and my driver’s license. That was all I’d need but I did have a copy of my State Department issued Birth certificate with me but that wasn’t good enough for the information they needed for me. Glad I only had to make a quick 8 block run to get it and got the same parking space upon my return.
Thank goodness we had a very patient trainee who, in turn, was glad we were very patient. (She considered us a great learning experience.)
2 hours later I was signed up for my Medicare, SS and we were both issued new SS cards because our SS cards were close to falling apart.
So, here’s the deal for an easier time with the Social security office:
- Make an appointment to go to your nearest SS office 3 months before your 65th birthday. If you just drop in you might wait hours to see someone.
- Bring more documentation than they ask for–*birth certificate, driver’s license, wedding license.
- Bring your spouse. As in my case, they do need to ask him/her questions too.
- Bring you check book or bank statement. (For setting up direct deposit.)

It’s almost official…
I turn 65 in March.
I have an appointment at Social Security today.
Getting old sucks.
We should remain the age our brain thinks we are.
HNY!
Happy New Year to everyone!
