There’s nothing quite like a whole new life.

Life moved on quickly after Jay died. I moved into a new State, bought a house. I made massive changes to the house to suit me.

My sweet Lucy died, I had cataract surgery on both eyes, made new friends, and I am fostering another rescue dog. I have named him Ed. Because if Ed Sheeran was a dog, he’d be this boy Ed. Ed is a great guy with a lovely temperament, we think he’s around 10. Unfortunately he’s heartworm positive, has hypothyroidism that he takes meds for, and we just found out he has Cushings disease. Poor, sweet boy just can’t catch a break.

I also have a neighborhood stray (someone dumped him at about 8 months of age) cat who comes by for pets and food. His name is Veek. “Veek” comes from my friend Chris calling him Void Kitty (Veek is a black cat). “Void Kitty” became VK which turned into Veek, Veeky, and Veeky Veek. He’s very sweet and everyone pets and feeds him. Some day he’s going to be a fat kitty at the rate he mooches. Veek is Ed’s best friend.
