Simple shopping manners some people need to learn

I swear there are people out there that never go grocery shopping until Christmas.  They are the same people who never shop for gifts until Black Friday or Christmas Eve.  I am so glad I no longer work retail.

Some of us go grocery shopping when we have to go, every week or so, not just because it’s going to snow or there’s a holiday breathing down our necks.

Therefore, if you are one of those people who only grocery shops once a year, here’s some simple shopping manners you should learn.

  1. Remember you are not the only person in the store, keep your eyes on your surroundings.  No one wants you to barrel into them or to block an aisle for a good ten minutes while you stare at the merchandise and don’t hear or see anything else…like people trying to get past you..
  2. So what, that you haven’t seen Junie since last Christmas, it doesn’t mean that for the next thirty minutes you should carry on a conversation and completely block two aisles while remaining oblivious to the people who would like to get past you, or reach for something directly behind your fat ass.
  3. If I’m impatient with you it’s because you are wasting my time, I don’t want to be here and would like to get finished.
  4. Seriously, if you can’t sing.  Don’t.
  5. Do not cut in line because you only have ten items and I have a cart full.  You are NOT entitled to special treatment.  And don’t bitch when everyone applauds after I tell you that in a voice that one can hear all over the store.  No, I don’t need a megaphone.
  6. Look all directions, including behind you, when you go to pull your car out.
  7. Remind me to make sure my cupboards and freezer are fully stocked by December 15th next year so I don’t have to leave the house and deal with idiots until after New Year’s Eve.

You all have a good one!  Happy Winter Solstice!

No one knew what they were for…

Years ago, when we used to put up a tree for the holiday, we came up with a clever arrangement to keep the tree from tumbling to floor when the resident cat or dogs wanted to mess with it.  We lost a few trees to cats who climbed them, or dogs who want to play around them, or both.

We got smart and ran wire from the two decorative rings on the wall to the tree.  Never lost a tree after that.  😉

No, we don’t stuff ourselves and watch football.

Thursday, I’ll throw together a dinner for two.  Nothing special… some ham, green beans, and canned yams.  Maybe I’ll defrost two pieces of cheesecake for our dessert. We aren’t big into holidays after Halloween passes.

Once this week is FINALLY over with, I can get back to a somewhat normal life.  Although, going shopping for normal, every-day items will become more difficult with idiot Xmas shoppers crowding the stores and parking lots.

I really hate this nonsense.  When we did ‘celebrate’ the holiday I had all my shopping done by July or August.  Screw getting a bargain.  It’s no bargain if you have to deal with fools.

Not my favorite time of year.

I truly do hate the months of November and December.  I find them depressing and way over rated. My Dad died in November and we buried him in December.

I hate that a simple trip to the grocery store turns into hell on wheels because so many people are idiots.  You had an entire year to shop for gifts, why did you wait until the last-minute?

Can I please just skip ahead to January?  And not the first of it either since that is when my Mother died and with her the last of my immediate family.

So maybe February would be better.  I could easily hibernate until then.

Cya Saturday!

So, tomorrow night I may not get a chance to post.  (Yes, I do my posts at night…in the wee hours of the morning)  I will be very busy hosting a party and handing out treats to Trick or Treaters.

Guaranteed, I’ll be exhausted by the time I get a chance to sit down and post.   Therefore, I will be doing my next post sometime on Saturday.

In the meantime, you all have a good one!

I wonder if I should auction him off or unstuff and store him for next year…

Answer to the puzzle…

Answer to yesterday’s puzzle.  It turns the fog from the fog machine into low-lying fog.  You duct tape the flexible duct to the fog machine outlet, run the hose through the trash can, fill the trash can with ice and the chilled fog will stay low.

Last year, we had the fog machine running for a while when The Curmudgeon came out the door all upset.  It seems our fog was getting inside the house.  We’re hoping the low-lying fog solves that problem.  😀

G is sewing the arms and legs together so I can stuff them and assemble the voodoo doll this weekend.

Minions!

minions     Since we didn’t get these made last year, we are making them this year.  G took all the fixings home with her today.  Our Twinkies are chocolate filled.

If you’re in the area on the 25th, stop by for Trick or Treat treats.   If you say you read my blog, you’ll get a Minion!  (Until the Minions run out.)
