In loving memory

My Dearest Sister,

Not a day goes by where I don’t think of you. I love you and miss you with all my heart. I still pick up the phone to tell you something… You’re not there.  I miss your smile, your giggle, your humor, your warmth and joy. There are days where my heart breaks all over again knowing you are gone. We held each others deepest darkest secrets buried in our hearts. I still hold yours, who will hold mine?

MRI and then what?

So later today I take The Curmudgeon for another MRI. I hate taking him for them because I am stuck sitting in a hospital waiting area with a bunch of sick people.

Even though I don’t touch the arm rests on the chairs or any of the magazines (I bring my Kindle) and I wash my hands as soon as I get home. I usually come down with some sort of creeping crud.

I think they should supply healthy people with masks and gloves so we don’t catch whatever is floating around.

Color me green and unhappy about being there.

Run in the candy aisle jungle

All that Easter candy will be the death of my diet.

G and I went to Target today to pick up a few items. She’s been off chocolate candy for Lent. So naturally she dragged me into the Easter candy aisles so she could load up for the day she can scarf a ton of chocolate down.

Chocolate, dark chocolate my biggest most irresistible nemesis. Oh, I truly did not need a candy heavy holiday come anyway near me.

Yes, I bought bags of dark chocolate candies. I am weak.

Yeah, I think I’ll stop with the birthdays…

Yesterday was my 61st birthday. I dreaded it. I did not enjoy it.

Bright spot of the day was opening a card from my cousin and seeing that she really does get me. Loved the music it played too.

I need a beach to live on for the rest of my life. Come on Lottery win!

Thank you to all who who wished me well.

You all have a good one.

Things my Bull Terriers have eaten that they shouldn’t have

I thought I’d do some reblogging since I am naturally lazy.

Patty’s towel incident prompted me to write this post.  Our first BT, Danny had a taste for rocks, socks, and shoes.  I had a lovely pair of suede boots that he chewed to bits in less than five minutes.  Dear Hubby had a habit of leaving socks on the bedroom floor, a habit he soon broke after Danny pooped one out.

Our second BT, Joey liked to chew on wood.  He redid the woodwork around the doors.  He ate my bentwood rocker and redesigned the rungs on a couple of wooden stools.  He also ate his Varikennel.

BT number three was Malcolm.  Malcolm ate a Superball, which resulted in major surgery and a vet bill that’d make you faint.  He would chew the covers off tennis balls in less than a minute.  He too had a taste for wood and added his own touches to Joey’s artistic endeavors.  Malcolm ate…

Oh, Crap. Snow.

If you had seen the dogs go out in the yard last night with the bit of wet snow on the ground, believe me you would have giggled as much as I did.

Gavin trotted out and looked almost delighted with the rain and snow mix. I expected that.

Lucy, however, I had no idea what to expect from her. She hates rain…but she sort of liked the snow…but she hates rain. Yeah, that’s about what she was like.

You all have a good one. I’m hoping this dusting or should I say, because it is so wet, frosting, is all we get with this storm.

Keep Momma away from Halloween stuff sales.

OMD! The Momma should never be allowed to go shopping without supervision!

HPIM4199Sir. Yes, you sir. I need to inspect your candy.

HPIM4200Show me the candy and no one gets hurt.

HPIM4201Such a serious paw shaker.

HPIM4202Yes, little one. I see it.

Fall dinner–home made ham and bean soup

Saturday, G and I went to the farmers market. I bought a very smoked ham hock. Sunday’s dinner was fresh ham and bean soup. Super smoky and delicious. I tend to use the simple recipe on the bag of navy beans. It never fails.

HPIM3188Yum!

I always miss the best shots.

Even with my camera in hand I couldn’t get any shots of Gavin merrily hucklebutting from living room to kitchen and back. Every time I’d get him in the frame and go to hit the button, he’d bounce out of frame.

Idiot dog. Love him to death and would sure love to have a decent enough camera to catch those wonderful shots I can’t get this one to capture.

One day. A good camera is not on the top of my priority list. Not when I need the front porch repaired, a patio, the yard leveled, painting done, dry wall up in two rooms, yeah and many more things. Nope a camera is not on the top of my list.

Yard sale

One week to the yard sale. G and I are setting up in my yard. I still have to find my tags, finish digging through things, drag all sorts of stuff outside, and get a price out of The Curmudgeon for the riding mower.

Gawd, I hate doing yard sales. I am willing to haggle with people but geez, I can’t give the stuff away. We need the money.

I dread it. You can see some of the stuff on the page https://doggonedmysteries.wordpress.com/items-we-have-for-sale/
