I’ve said this before…
You can keep the Southern heat and humidity down South if you please. I prefer the low humidity and cooler temperatures we should have here. If I wanted this weather, I’d move South…you don’t see me packing do you?
The heat is The Curmudgeon’s enemy. He doesn’t function at all in it. Even his ice vest wouldn’t have helped yesterday. I am glad we have the AC for his sake.
Even the pups are spoiled. When it gets hot here, they want to splay out in front of the AC and only go out when they NEED to go.

Rain, rain go away my basement is wet again today
Whew, rain, rain, and more rain yesterday. Poor Patty would hold out until she was about to burst before she’d go outside. Gavin didn’t care, he’s of the when you’ve got to go you’ve got to go school.
At times it would pour and other times we’d have barely a sprinkle but the entire day was wet, wet, wet. I’m so glad The Curmudgeon got the yard mowed before all the rain began.
The gardens and the grass needed a good soaking, the basement however, did not. In the forty years I’ve lived in this house I think we’ve had a completely dry basement for one solid year. More rain predicted for today, lovely, maybe I should get a sump pump…

Tornado alley is getting nailed again
Would everyone please keep Oklahoma and all the other people who are going through more storms in your thoughts and prayers.
I remember as a kid, living in Nebraska, we would have to hit the basements frequently. I’d forgotten what it was like until many years later when I was helping my mother move and we had to hit the basement. It wasn’t long afterwards, when a tornado jumped over the house, I remembered that freight train sound from my childhood.
Candles lit here for all you in Tornado alley.

Oklahoma needs plenty of good vibes from us all. Light a candle, say a prayer, do whatever you do to send them.
The people there need kindness now. I’m sure there are many clothing drives and other things we can donate to, to help out.
Skip your expensive coffees this week and send what you’d spend to the Red Cross, ear marked for Oklahoma tornado victims. Every little bit helps.
Or you could donate your coffee money to the animal rescues who are trying to reunite victims with their beloved pets.
Be kind, be generous, do for them as you would want done for you in a similar situation. Remember, it could have been you.

Woke to this crap again yesterday. Really? Again? Color me grumpy.

Double whammy on its way
We have 6 to 10 inches of snow predicted with this double whammy storm coming through. As I wrote this line in an E-mail I thought it might make a good opening for today’s post.
I am NOT looking forward to a large amount of snow. The Curmudgeon and the dogs aren’t either. We have had enough. Winter can end any time now.
I’ve blessed my snow shoveler AJ from AJ Wildflowers every time she’s cleared our walks. I am so glad we found her.
I think today calls for plenty of hot coffee, warm snuggly clothes, and 65 lb dogs on laps. The evening should consist of a stick the ribs sort of dinner and a glass of wine before bed.
