I finally drag out my sweat pants and put on Tabi socks with my flip-flops.

Lucy insists/yells/barks like crazy at me… on having me put her hoodie on her before she goes out, and she rolls herself up in a fuzzy blanket when she comes in.

The Curmudgeon’s truck gets stubborn about starting. Nope, don’t wanna…

Gavin puts up with a cushion in his crate. Yep, only when it’s cold. He’d rather sleep in a bare crate. That’s my idiot dog.

I was enjoying our unseasonable October weather and now that it is more like normal for this time of year, I am ready to get out of here.

Yep, don’t like the cold. Makes my bones ache something awful.

Seems that Lucy isn’t very fond of the cold weather either. She’s starting to look for her hoodie.

Cool enough last night to turn off the AC, turn on the whole house fan, and open the windows.

Even nicer tonight. Down to 63 degrees–great sleeping weather. This is like the Pennsylvania weather we used to have.

We’re supposed to enjoy this until Tuesday of next week where it will pop back up into the 90s.

We’re supposed to drop to 71 degrees by 5 a.m. a definite improvement over the last eight days of terrible heat. The high for the day should reach 86 degrees and only feel like 89 degrees with lower humidity.

This is a good thing.

This means I can get some outdoor work done. With the heat and rain, the yard and gardens became sorely neglected. I now have tons of vines and tall weeds to get rid of over the next week.

I’m tired just thinking about it.

I feel bad for The Curmudgeon. This hot weather means there is no going anywhere at all for him. He’s stuck inside. Even with his ice vest on, the short walk to the car is too much for him. (I hope the weather cools down for his up-coming doctor’s appointment.)

The dogs cracked me up, they didn’t want to leave the AC today. Both were very quick doing their business each time.

We had a few days of this crap.

I actually wouldn’t mind so much IF I lived in Florida, Alabama, or any other Southern state. It’s supposed to be this hot and muggy there.

This is not the South.

This is Pennsylvania. A real feel temperature of 100 dripping muggy degrees sucks here.

Yeah, it’s making the bad weeds grow fast and is killing my grass.

I’d rather move South and expect the heat and humidity. At least if I moved there, I would be near a beach. Muggy isn’t so bad at the beach.

The heat wave broke yesterday and tonight the AC is off. We have the whole house fan on pulling in the lovely, cool, fresh air from outside. Yay! The constant drone of three AC units silenced for the time being. My ears are happy.

The grass was beginning to die and none of the plants were real happy with me except the vegetables that I water daily.

The only one aghast at the rain was Lucy. She did not want to go out in it so I had to boot her out the door. Talk about an indignant pee break. But she had barked and danced at the back door to go out so there was no backing down.

Ah, it’s lovely when the temperature drops to the low sixties and we can turn off the AC and open the house up to the fresh air.

Wait… no, it’s gone.

Yes, we’ve had rain for days and about five minutes of sun yesterday afternoon which we greeted with cheers and applause.

Ah huh, we are that desperate to see the sun again.

Even the dogs are dreaming of sunshine.

I know we need the rain but dang it I want to go fishing. I hate fishing on a soaked and muddy river bank in the rain on a chilly day. That isn’t fun.
