Nice day
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Yay! 65° yesterday!!! All the snow is gone! Even the dogs are pleased.
Other than that, it was a quiet day here at Casa Doggonnedmysteries. The Curmudgeon had a restless night, couldn’t sleep in the afternoon, and I hope that doesn’t make his walking bad tomorrow.
I, on the other hand, slept like a baby with my new CD player playing my sleep CD all night. Color me happy.
You all have a good one!

Cell phone crazy
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I know I’ve said it before, but I hate cell phones. I do not want to be connected to the entire world 24/7. However, with The Curmudgeon’s health I am beginning to think I have to get one. Looked at ZTE Awe N800 (Virgin Mobile)…Thoughts?
I will use it so seldom that even paying monthly seems silly to me. Although I am beginning to see it as a necessary evil.
I find all the phone models and crazy expensive plans frustrating. My last cell phone I used so seldom and forgot to buy more minutes for so long, they shut it down.
The phone store clerks are no help at all since they are most likely on commission and want to sell me the most expensive phone and plan as possible.
Honestly, if I could find a phone plan where I could get what I want for super cheap, I be doing cartwheels. No, The Curmudgeon has a flip phone with the data shut off, does that answer your question?
You all have a good one. I think I need someone with me who knows the ropes…

Simple shopping manners some people need to learn
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I swear there are people out there that never go grocery shopping until Christmas. They are the same people who never shop for gifts until Black Friday or Christmas Eve. I am so glad I no longer work retail.
Some of us go grocery shopping when we have to go, every week or so, not just because it’s going to snow or there’s a holiday breathing down our necks.
Therefore, if you are one of those people who only grocery shops once a year, here’s some simple shopping manners you should learn.
- Remember you are not the only person in the store, keep your eyes on your surroundings. No one wants you to barrel into them or to block an aisle for a good ten minutes while you stare at the merchandise and don’t hear or see anything else…like people trying to get past you..
- So what, that you haven’t seen Junie since last Christmas, it doesn’t mean that for the next thirty minutes you should carry on a conversation and completely block two aisles while remaining oblivious to the people who would like to get past you, or reach for something directly behind your fat ass.
- If I’m impatient with you it’s because you are wasting my time, I don’t want to be here and would like to get finished.
- Seriously, if you can’t sing. Don’t.
- Do not cut in line because you only have ten items and I have a cart full. You are NOT entitled to special treatment. And don’t bitch when everyone applauds after I tell you that in a voice that one can hear all over the store. No, I don’t need a megaphone.
- Look all directions, including behind you, when you go to pull your car out.
- Remind me to make sure my cupboards and freezer are fully stocked by December 15th next year so I don’t have to leave the house and deal with idiots until after New Year’s Eve.
You all have a good one! Happy Winter Solstice!

Aw, you can’t find your car?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Well, maybe next time you won’t block a driveway. I had places to go and things to do and you kept me from all of it. Lucky for you I didn’t have an emergency during the night. I wonder what this is going to cost her. 🙂
Yeah, we think it was a female that parked there. Usually it is men who are that rude and will actually argue with me when I tell them they can’t park there, but this time we think we saw the culprit when we left to go to the farmers market.
G and I were walking to the car when we saw a young, I-am-entitled woman talking on her phone, walking back and forth, waving her free arm about, staring at the place from where the car, just a few minutes before, was towed.
We looked at each other and grinned. Once we got in the car and pulled out we both cracked up.
“Want to bet that’s the idiot who parked in front of the driveway all night?”
“Naw, that’s too easy.”
You all have a good one and remember if it’s my driveway you’re thinking of parking in front of, you will be ticketed and towed. 😉
Maybe I need a sign:

My dogs are fashionistas
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Yes, I do spoil my dogs a bit. Today they got brand new, hand-made collars. I will not tell you how many collars they already have, but they do have more collars than I have purses.
The woman who makes the collars does a wonderful job. They are stronger and last longer than any I have purchased in a store. They cost about the same too. Pictured below are four of their collars all made by Diana. The top two are the latest ones.

Who shook the snow globe?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
It looked and felt like we were inside a well shaken snow globe all day. Yes, if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you know I like one snowstorm a year, after that, all bets are off!
We’ve had too many and too much now. It can stop. The dogs are even ticked off about the snow. You have to boot them out the door.
The Curmudgeon is having trouble walking in the crap in the yard. He is not liking that white stuff either.
Therefore, if you are the person who is shaking the snow globe, I ask that you STOP IT! To the rest of you, you all have a good one!

Calgon take me away!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I need a vacation. I mean it, don’t laugh, I really do need one. I need someone to babysit The Curmudgeon and dogs while I go find a nice warm beach somewhere. I need a break, a change in routine, a chance to recharge.
Just give me a nice, quiet shack on the beach with plumbing, electric where I can plug my lap top in, and a great place to eat nearby. A place where I don’t have to cook or clean, or worry about anything except did I remember the sun block?
You have no idea how much I’d love to disappear for a few weeks and do nothing but relax and not have to think or remember to ask The Curmudgeon if he took his medication while forgetting mine completely. Oh yes, I have done that often.
To not have to worry if that noise I heard was him falling again…yes, a peaceful vacation where I don’t hear him moan and groan all day long.
Maybe I just need to get out of the house for a few hours and go out to lunch with G. This snow has me stir crazy.
You all have a good one and if you are on a beach somewhere, please refrain from telling me about it. 😀

Lullaby and goodnight?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
For years I’ve had trouble falling asleep. Then I discovered several ‘sleep’ CDs that helped me fall asleep like never before. I would even stay asleep for hours.
Last night my CD player died. Do you have any idea how tough it is to find a new one? Everything is MP3 players. I finally found a couple of them. I bought one at Radio Shack.
No, with the street as bad as it is I didn’t drive there. I ordered it online. 😀
It may take a few days before I get a good sleep again.
You all have a good one!

I never thought I’d see this.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
These two will play together but they never snuggled together. It was that whole ‘TOUCHING?!” thing. The arrival of the soft, fluffy, fuzzy throw has changed things around here a bit.
You all have a good one. I’m going to sit back and enjoy this.

Are you a bully?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
As a youngster I could never understand it when people were nasty to each other. I couldn’t see the point in it. That’s probably why even one of my own sisters had a habit of bullying me for a long time.
One day, in junior high, I had enough of being bullied by a couple of girls in school and stood up to them with great success. It felt good. The next time my sister tried to bully me, I stood up to her. Success! She quit bullying me and tried to go after the baby sister. I wouldn’t allow that.
I do not tolerate bullying. I understand it even less now than I did as a child. How and why do certain adults think that bullying is acceptable?
Bullying comes in all forms. If you are reading this and wondering if I am writing about you, you may just be a bully.
