Gavin’s day.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
He was so ticked about being at the vet’s he wouldn’t look at me.
Since it was his birthday I put ribbons on his bag of poo. His gift to the lab.
Doesn’t he look thrilled to be there?
Still wouldn’t look at me even though he was almost done. Such a happy looking boy…NOT. Gavin is showing a cataract in one eye and the beginnings of one in the other eye. This is to be expected at his age.
He has a clean bill of health. Shots are up to date. I am very impressed with their new policy of calming bandannas. With him it worked. He got a full inspection from Patty when he got home.

Gavin’s Birthday!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
It certainly doesn’t feel like twelve years have passed, but they have. Today is Gavin’s twelfth birthday. The poor boy got a bath yesterday and today he gets to go to the place he dreads and hates the most, the vet’s. I am such a mean dog Mommy. 😉

Gavin isn’t going to be happy with me…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I finally managed to make an appointment for Gavin to see the vet. So many things have been going on here, he’s over due for one and is out of his allergy medication. He should feel a lot better after Tuesday. Poor thing, he has to go to the vet on his birthday.
Patty is also due to go in but I won’t take them together. Gavin is such a chicken chit that he makes Patty afraid to be there. We found this out after we tried taking them in together just once. Gavin is such a total wuss that he made Patty a nervous wreck before Dr. O got in the exam room to see them.
After that, I thought she’d never go there again without being afraid. Fortunately, since we never did that again, she’s regained her confidence and is now a happy camper at the vet’s again.

Back away from the trash can…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
While in the check out line at Bed Bath and Beyond, I glanced at a shelf in front of me and almost collapsed laughing.
G asked me what was so funny and I pointed to the garbage can that had the sensor that automatically opened the can for you.
“Could you picture that with my dogs?”
She giggled at the thought.
I about fell on the floor laughing. Finally, I gasped out, “OMG, they’d have the sensor worn out in less than a day and you’d find me sitting in a corner pulling my hair out while repeatedly mumbling ‘leave the trash can alone.'”

No! I am not the age it says on my birth certificate…am I?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
There are days where I really feel my age. Today was one of those days. All I did was go grocery shopping–not a good day for it, the store was crowded with people who can’t move out of their own way.
By the time I got home, unloaded the car, put everything away, fed the dogs, and cooked dinner, I was ready for a nap.
I think I dozed off on the couch with Gavin around eight. I slept for an hour. Gavin enjoyed it and wanted me to snooze a bit longer. 😉 Silly pup.
Then there are days where I don’t feel any different from forty years ago when I was newly married.

It’s sometimes hard to believe that the white dog is a few days shy of 12 years of age.

Getting chilly around here…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I had to put on my hoodie last night when I took the dogs outside. I love my hoodie, the picture above is on it.
The pups are loving the cool weather, it has them energized. They are acting like youngsters. 😀
Not sure if it is the cooler weather or the Tecfidera that has The Curmudgeon more chipper. Whatever it is, I approve.

Fall is being good to us
Posted by doggonedmysteries
The cooler weather is a delight and quite a relief for the pups. They are getting their silly on every day we’ve had the cooler temperatures. It is fun to see them chase each other around and go into wild hucklebutts.
The Curmudgeon is doing a bit better without the heat too. As any of you know who follow this blog, heat is the enemy of MS patients. Although with the cooler temperatures and the new medication making him seem to improve, I dare not leave him alone for more than the time it takes to run a few errands.
The neighbor who usually helps get The Curmudgeon up when he’s down on the floor has injured his back and cannot help us until he’s better. Therefore I can’t take any chances on not being here or nearby. I really don’t want to have to call 911 again even though the firemen were very sweet the last time.
Now, if only I could get the new light installed, the cracks around the back door and between the porch and house caulked, we will be ready for winter.

Paint…The Curmudgeon…2 Dogs…this should be interesting.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I bought the paint for the living room, stairs, and upstairs hallway today. Only cost me an arm and leg even with the 40% off.
