Laundry day
Clothes were done and it was time to wash the dog’s bedding, the blanket that protects the couch from the dogs, and Ted (Lucy’s favorite blanket from http://www.teddythedog.com/Home_Is_Where_the_Dog_Is_Plush_Throw_Blanket_p/hwdiptb.htm )
Poor Lucy reminded me of Linus in the Peanuts comics. She wanted Ted and the blanket cover back on the couch and she wasn’t happy until they were back. Hysterically funny. Yes, we do call the blanket below Ted or Teddy and she knows what we are talking about. Make no mistake,Teddy is HERS!

“A special box came for ME today.”
“For whom?”
“Okay, for da stinky brudder Gavin and for me.” Lucy mutters under her breath, “It’s all mine! Not da brudder’s.”

I saw a robin today…
According to the forecast, we will have a lovely day today. A high of 41 degrees sounds almost Springlike after the cold we’ve had.
Does seeing a robin yesterday trump all the dire six more weeks of winter groundhog predictions? I hope so.
Lucy was a very good girl about going outside in the bright sunshine we had yesterday. I’m sure she is looking forward to Spring as much as I am.
Gavin has always been a homebody and never enjoyed going away from his yard or house. Therefore, we didn’t take walks in the park with him. Lucy is another story. Looks like we’ll be going for daily walks in the park as soon as the weather gets nice enough to do so.
This will be a great way to drop both hers and my weight and we can work on her training too. Socializing her is easy. She loves people and new places.

Dis beez my boyfwend. He libs next door. I beez ober da moon about him. I watchez for him ebery day. Dis waz da first time dat he seedz my new hat. He sed I waz a cutie and I kissed him (blush.)
The dog isn’t dumb.
Yesterday, Lucy received a hoodie I’d ordered for her because she is more sensitive to the cold than Mr. Nova Scotia born Gavin. He loves the cold weather.
After going outside wearing the hoodie a couple of times, Lucy now stands in front of where I keep it, and barks to have it put on before she rings the bells to go out.
I think she likes staying warm. Well, don’t we all when the weather turns frigid?
It seems that when she’s not wrapped up in the fuzzy blanket like a bully burrito, she’s now asking for her hoodie. And people say dogs are dumb.

Happy Birthday to our Gavin!
He’s a whole thirteen years old now. Hard to believe that much time has passed since Linda and I picked him up at the airport customs office.
He was eight weeks old and such a cute little guy that everyone in the customs office fell in love with him.
The Curmudgeon didn’t know we were picking him up, he thought Gavin was coming two weeks from then. We fooled him and showed up at his work with Gavin. The dispatcher called him into the office to see someone who stopped in to see him.
I loved the look on his face when he saw me with little Gavin. Priceless!

Fall dinner–home made ham and bean soup
Saturday, G and I went to the farmers market. I bought a very smoked ham hock. Sunday’s dinner was fresh ham and bean soup. Super smoky and delicious. I tend to use the simple recipe on the bag of navy beans. It never fails.
Yum!
He’s up again. Silly old boy.
Gavin was shopping. All you could hear was him rattling around in the toy box. 
When he finished, you could tell he’d been busy.
These two didn’t satisfy.
Nor did these two.
Ditto with these.
Next, Miss Lucy will tidy up by putting all of them into her bed. Wish she’d put them into the toy box, but at least she does pick up after herself and Gavin.
They love pizza bones
Yesterday was not a healthy food day. We had pizza for dinner. We have Domino’s pizza for dinner about once a month or so. The Curmudgeon gets his favorite of the day and I get an Artisan pizza.
The dogs love pizza night because they get pizza bones. (Pizza crusts) You never saw two happier dogs as when I announce that we are getting pizza for dinner.
We have a good rapport with our Domino’s after all these years. They always get our order perfect. Two of the drivers, that have been with them for years, know us by our first names and call out hello to the pups when they deliver here too.
Did someone say pizza?
Can I have some peanut butter cracker?
I helped you make them.
I made sure you got to the living room with them.
If I look pitiful enough, will you share?
Ew, wet dog smell all day.
I swear these two dogs are so different from each other. It rained yesterday and Gavin had no problem going out even in the worst of it. However, Miss Lucy imagined she might melt her sugary self if she got the least bit wet.
The only time they are anything alike is at meal time. Both are eager eaters and will dance about and holler for their food while we fix it for them. What a hoot.
Bed time, Gavin wants in his crate, he wants the door shut, and he wants the cover down. Lucy would rather sleep on the couch wrapped up like a fuzzy, grey burrito in the soft and fuzzy blanket.
They both snore but I think the little girl snores louder. 😉
