The old pup is soon another year older.

Gavin saw some old friends yesterday. He hadn’t seen them in ages. The old boy acted like a young pup. He does take a lot of joy in seeing old friends. He’s never forgotten a single person he ever met.

It’s fun to see him bounce around and wag his tail like crazy. Some days it’s hard to believe he’ll be thirteen on November first, especially when he’s playing with Lucy. After a while, he does tire out and heads for his crate, peace and quiet, and sleep.

A variety of tidbits

Yes, the decorations are beginning to make their way to various locations in the house.

There’s been no progress on Audrey 2, don’t ask. I need to find a starting point.

Needed my Tens unit again yesterday, my back was acting up a bit. I love my Tens, it makes the pain go away so easily.

Gavin and Lucy tired each other out so bad yesterday, that Gavin crawled into his crate, barked to have the door closed and cover dropped, and was out for hours afterwards. Lucy looked like a dead critter on the couch she was so sound asleep.

You all have a good one! I’m going out to lunch today. Whoohoo Red Lobster! G’s treat. Pity The Curmudgeon, he’s not going.

The bliss that is the fuzzy blanket

We haven’t turned our heat on yet and yesterday was a bit chilly. That plus the fact that little Lucy wasn’t up to par (*whispers so as not to embarrass her* “She had the runs.”) She made the use of the fuzzy blanket, a new thing for her. She likes it. She wanted back under it later too.

I bought the fuzzy throw for The Curmudgeon but he didn’t like it. Patty and Gavin took it over, so I am not surprised that Lucy loves it too.

HPIM4114Yeah, Lucy is snoring. LOUD.

She only wants him for his cookies…

Lucy is a mercenary little girl, but then aren’t all bull terriers? If her Daddy has a cookie, she will give him her undivided attention. However, as soon as he is empty-handed, she’s on my lap. 😀

If she spots her boyfriend, her crush of the century, no one else exists. She’s cute. She gets away with it.

HPIM4100Allergies are acting up a bit. Time for the Benedryl.

We love these pups

Lucy and Gavin are still not out together all the time, we hope they will be one day. She gets a bit maniacal with him and that’s when he goes to his crate and gives me ‘the look’. He’s so sweet and takes her energy and abuse very well.

However, she exhausts him and once he’s in his crate it doesn’t take long for him to start snoring.

What a pair. I had them out in the yard together today and it’s a good thing I kept her on a leash. I think she would have thudded into him hard enough to break him.

Once he went inside, I let her loose and she bounded about the yard like a small, white deer.

In the meantime, The Curmudgeon said Gavin went directly to his crate and barked to have the door closed. He’s a nut.

HPIM3766This is the look you get right before he barks at you to close his door.

Whoohoo!

We had an absolutely scrumptious day yesterday! 72 degrees for the high and dropping down to 60 degrees over night. Couldn’t ask for nicer weather.

If only The Curmudgeon’s spine fractures weren’t so damned painful for him, I’m sure he’d be a lot happier. I miss the happy part of him.

Lucy was hell on wheels all day living up to her nickname of Lucifurry. Gavin had a ton of energy. However, once I sent them both to bed, all I’ve heard from the crates are snores.

I do wish I hadn’t spent the day doing indoor projects that needed doing because I could have done a lot outside. The fact that it looked as though it would rain any minute all day was all that kept me indoors.

Today looks about the same temperature wise. Time to drag out the recycling barrels and my clippers.

You all have a good one!

Mash up

Found out that Verizon is working in our area and that is why our internet connection has been so effed up lately. So far our TV is fine whereas G’s is not. We’re half a block apart for heaven’s sake.

I was in trouble with the pups yesterday. We were out of dog cookies! G and I went to one of our nearby pet stores to stock up and then I took her out to lunch.

If I miss a post or two in the coming weeks, don’t worry just blame Verizon.

You all have a good one!

HPIM3959WTF?! No cookies??!!!

No yard work …

Rain, we needed it. We are getting some. This means I will transplant flowers Sunday or Monday when the ground is nicely softened from two days of rain.

I moved bricks to line the side garden from where it was to the front fence. I have bags of soil and peat ready to fill in there and I even have a bit of mulch for that area.

Lucy is not happy about the rain. She’ll survive even though she doesn’t think she will. Poor little sugar baby thinks she’ll melt.

Gavin never seems to mind the rain even when it is coming down in sheets.

Next week The Curmudgeon goes to see a neurosurgeon. I’ll keep you all updated on what is going on there. All we know now is that he has fractures at his T-10 spine. Some new and some old. If they can repair the damage, he will have a lot less pain.

You all have a good one!

Heather Galler original

Galler picture of PattyLook at what arrived today! Isn’t Patty looking wonderful in her memorial portrait? The Curmudgeon shed a few tears when she came out of the package.

This means I have four Heather Gallers Bully pictures to get framed. Holy cow. The Curmudgeon says I am running out of wall space. I say, good! I want my walls filled with art work.

My sister hoards all the family art, including several of my own pieces. I will never have the pleasure of having any of it on my walls. I only have one of mine, a pastel I did in high school. Karma will get her in the end for her hateful greed.

In the meantime, I plan to laugh and enjoy my collection of happy art for the rest of my years.

Dream a little dream

Okay, I admit it. I often roll over and go back to sleep so I don’t have to face another day quite so soon. I am tired of arguments and feeling like all I am here for is to wait on The Curmudgeon. Unfortunately, yesterday my dreams went to us arguing rather than being something pleasant. I can’t escape even in dreamland.

I know I’d be more willing to do it if he actually made some sort of effort to get his muscles in even mildly better shape.

Physical therapy? He won’t go, the place is too far from home. Using the home gym I have set up? Nope, why would he bother?

He’d rather turn into this man who looks and acts as if he were 90 years-old than make any effort to work on muscle memory or strength. At least he will use his cart.

Of course, come to find out, Mr. Cranky Pants hasn’t been taking his antidepressants for at least a week. No wonder he’s been so impossible to live with. You bet I gave him the devil for not taking them when I found out and he’s started them again.

I hate MS. I hate that it has taken the kind, loving, and considerate man I married away.
