Sheeee’s baaack!

HPIM2084

Every year a dove nests here.  For years they made messy attempts to but couldn’t make it work.  Finally, several years ago, The Curmudgeon put that plastic shelf up for them.

Momma’s on her second nesting this year…

You all have a good one.

If Dad is eating it, it must be good.

Tired pups and Curmudgeon.  Must be all that fresh air.

In theory it works…but in real life?

We’ll see.

HPIM2956

Oh, yeah the theory…if I keep taking the dogs outside with me eventually they will get bored with grazing or beating the crap out of each other and will begin to relax in the yard and let me work rather than have to keep my eyes on them all the time.

Or not…

Patty says, “Oh, Brudder let me gnaw on yer neck.”    Yeah, I’ll get to work out there with them…not very likely.

Good news and more pictures…

Ultrasound is over and I passed with flying colors.  Won’t hear about the blood test until my next appointment unless there’s a problem.

Here’s what the rest of my day was like:

My cardiologist appointment went very well.  He is extremely pleased with me.  I don’t go back to him again for another 6 months.  Yay!

    Yeah, it does need weeding.

Time to see the cardiologist again

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my cardiologist.  I hope he’s happy with me.  I’ve tried so hard to make the changes necessary to prevent another heart attack.  It’s been six months since I’ve seen him.

I haven’t smoked a single cigarette since 8/17/2011.   I’ve made significant dietary changes, and I take my medications faithfully.

Although so far there has been no significant weight loss, I have hopes that by the end of the summer there will be.  I would love to step on the scale and be back to my normal weight before the heart attack.

Here’s hoping that all the days at the gym, walking with friends, and moving work.

You all have a good one!

What a lovely day we had.

It’s a darned shame that with nice weather my energy levels didn’t go up.  If they had, I would’ve done so much yesterday that people would have fallen down in dead faints to see it.

However, no one fainted, and I accomplished only minimal amounts of work.  I think my get up and go, got up and went.  If you happen to see it would you kindly direct it back here?

Being outside in the sunshine was a pure invitation to laziness and my playful side.  The dogs and I had a rip-roaring wild game of find Mommy–tag, she’s it!  They are still snoring in their crates.  Funny, by now they normally want a last out.  I may have to wake them for that.

You all have a good one!

Blessings on Boston.  A candle burns in this house for you all.

An unplanned life

So we managed to survive day before yesterday and yesterday was a bit of an improvement.  The Curmudgeon’s walking had improved and he was able to function.  I never did make it to the gym, grocery store, or the farmers market.

If you haven’t noticed or read about it here before, we seldom make plans.  I know that if we do make plans, something around here is bound to change them.  If it isn’t The Curmudgeon changing our plans, it is the dogs.

It makes for a strange life, but it is our life an unplanned life for certain.

I do think the dogs had a plan for whatever it was they were mooching from The Curmudgeon…

We continue on, one day and one step at a time

It scares me to death when The Curmudgeon has a bad spell.   He had a particularly bad one yesterday.

He was on the floor and I couldn’t get him up.  I hurt my back trying to do it.  Finally, I called the neighbor for help.  We were fortunate he was home and responded.

With me already an emotional wreck, this bad spell sent me over the edge. While the neighbor helped him, I fell apart in the kitchen, well away from them so The Curmudgeon couldn’t see me.

I know he’s frustrated when these things happen.  I am too.  There’s no light on the horizon either, and yet we plod on.

No fresh veggies yesterday…but there’s always today

Plans to go to the gym yesterday fell through. When I called G, no one was home.  I figured they were running very late at the grocery store.  So much for the gym, the grocery store, and a stop at the farmers market on the way home.  I thought maybe I’d do the grocery store and farmers market run a little after noon.

Later on, after I got busy doing a few things around the house, I looked at the clock, and I realized that by then it was too late for me to go to the farmers market and grocery store.  I refuse to shop anywhere near three in the afternoon with all the mommies and their cranky kids and it was ten after three.

I’ll go to the farmers market and grocery store today.  I need fresh veggies and a few other things.
