He tried…it wasn’t easy…but he did it
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I had an appointment to get my hair cut. As I was pulling out of the driveway, I spotted a beer bottle in front of The Curmudgeon’s truck.
Running a bit later than I like, I stopped in front of the house and honked the horn (another thing I hate to do.) The Curmudgeon actually responded by coming to the door, something I didn’t expect but hoped for.
I told him about the bottle hoping he’d get it picked up before some idiot came along and thought it funny to smash it in the driveway.
When I came home the bottle was gone and he was winding up an extension cord. He’d managed to even charge his truck battery while I was gone. Wow, he didn’t spend the entire time in front of the TV.

Ulnar impingement
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Well, I had my Neurologist appointment yesterday. They actually called me and had me come in earlier to see a different doctor. The Neurologist (the one The Curmudgeon sees) who was to see me, had a family emergency.
Quite all right. I liked the substitute, she was a real hoot.
I spent an hour getting pinged, measured, marked, stabbed with wires, and zapped.
As a result we’ve found that I don’t have carpal tunnel, I have ulnar nerve impingement. I never get off easy.

Where did our spring go?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
The day before yesterday, it was very cold outside. Yesterday was cold.
Lucy is not pleased and neither am I. We were looking forward to warm weather, walks in the parks, not freezing our buns off.
So glad I hadn’t put the heavy coat away yet.
Lucy was looking for her hoodie. I told her she has fur, she can go outside without a hoodie since there is no snow with the cold.
Now she’s wrapped in her blanket and snoring.

Writing prompts day 2
Posted by doggonedmysteries
My cousin suggested “It was a dark and stormy night” which gave me an idea…just how many variations can we come up with on that infamous line?
- We stumbled in the darkness while the wind lashed the trees and rain pelted off our heads.
- Headlights reflected off the raging flood before us.
Your turn!

She was alone in the sea of fog…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Through the mist, she saw the lights of the harbor.
Empty, deserted, eerie, a ghost town.
Not one boat remained, not a single human.
The only sound she heard was the splash of her paddle and the bell on a buoy.
Why was she the only one?

Give me some writing prompts…please?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I thought it might be fun to do some writing from prompts given to me by my readers.
Let’s have some fun and see if I have any skills left.
Have you ever….?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Wanted to kill someone but didn’t because …well… jail and all that.
Wanted to pack up your car and disappear?
Felt so low you were looking up to see worm bellies?
Felt so good you felt like you were walking on air?
Any more have you ever(s) out there?

How will we manage this?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
These days it is difficult to get anything done. Not only am I exhausted all the time, but I have extremely limited use of my left hand.
Yes, surgery looms in my future. Not sure how they will do it. When they will do it. Or even if they will do it.
Even though I am right-handed, I am finding out how much I use my left hand.
A lot.
I imagine when I have surgery, I’ll find out even more.

Call me around dinnertime?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Expect to get the answering machine.
I refuse to answer the phone when I am cooking dinner or when I am eating dinner.
Heck if I don’t recognize your number or ID on the TV screen when you call, expect to leave a message on my machine and IF I am not eating dinner, fixing dinner, or cleaning up after dinner I might even pick up before you finish your message.
With the political calls and all the sales crap (even though we are on a do not call list they still call) I seldom answer the phone these days.
I am also one of those people who doesn’t own a cell phone. I do NOT want to be connected 24/7.
If it is important, leave a message on my answering machine, and I’ll get back to you.

The monthly pill project
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I just spent a half an hour putting together a month’s worth of pills for The Curmudgeon. He takes a lot of pills.
Yes, the pill system I bought actually holds all his pills for a month. It is working very well for him.
I hate having to fill it, but I love having to only do it once a month.
If you need one, or have a family member who could use this system, you can find it on Amazon. We also have the pill reminder alarm clock that you can buy with it.
