Waiting for MRI results again
We had to go to the hospital for The Curmudgeon to get an MRI of his thoracic spine. So glad I took my Kindle along since they took him in fast and I was left sitting in the waiting room. With the Kindle the time passed quickly.
The Neurologist told The Curmudgeon he can’t drive until she sees the results of his latest MRI. He’s not thrilled. If she takes his driving license away we’ll sell the truck. We can use the bucks and we can save all that insurance money that we shell out for it.
Oh, for Pete’s sake, WordPress changed things again!
I am not happy with the new format WordPress threw at us tonight. First of all, I hate surprises. Secondly, the new format makes tagging the post a real PITA.

On another note, the world is a bit darker now that another great star has gone. Who will ever forget the famous line, “You do know how to whistle, don’t you? You just pucker up and blow.” The fabulous Lauren Bacall, one of the brightest stars, has left us. My deepest sympathies to her family.
RIP Robin Williams
It’s so sad when laughter dies. It died yesterday with Robin Williams. He’s one man I loved to watch whether he was acting, doing improv, stand up, or making an appearance on a talk show.
He made me laugh even when I fell into the depths of sorrow. He shall be missed.
I lost a sister to suicide, she was 29 when she died. It completely gutted our family.
Mr. Williams’ family has my deepest sympathy.
A mixed batch
The Curmudgeon had a bad day again. At one point I had to get the neighbor over to help him back into his chair. Come to find out, he thinks he forgot one of his pills the day before.
One squirrel trapped and relocated. He went for a tomato in the trap so we’re hoping it was the tomato thief.
OMG, I actually baked some date bread yesterday. I was in dire need of something sweet. I also found out that Lucy likes date bread.

Baited the Havahart trap with the tomato the squirrel stole off the vine, chewed on, and dropped as he tried to run up the tree with it tonight.
Damned thing, I hope he’s just dumb enough to go for it. He’ll find himself transported to a new life.
He’s almost completely stripped us of tomatoes. Makes me so mad since I had my heart set on enjoying them.
Internet connection went to crap
I’ll be lucky if I can get this to post tonight. My internet connection was crap all day and most of tonight.
I can’t even get my Kindle to connect to my WiFi. Thank goodness I got the one with the 3G connection.
With everything fading in and out I’ll just shoot this off to you all and say good night.
Maybe this will do the trick.
Nope, I don’t like it.
I honestly tried to give the show Dominion a chance. I just cannot get into it. The violence is gratuitous and unnecessary to the story line. But wait, there is no real story line other than gratuitous violence.
This is not a good versus evil conflict it is an evil versus worse evil crap shoot.
No, I have watched my last episode.
Some days crawl by
From the time I got up yesterday until I was ready to go to bed, the entire time awake went by at a slow crawl. Have you ever had a day like that?
I swear, it was like watching the clock that last class in school.
T   i   c  k. T  i  c  k. T  i  c  k.
And yet, I GOT NOTHING DONE!
It crept on by and left me standing in the dust.
Another day shot to hell.

Let the tree rat wars begin again.
    Effing tree rats have ruined three very large and not yet ripe Black Krim tomatoes. Let the wars begin.
    I bought chicken wire to enclose my two Black Krim tomato plants, leaving the third heirloom tomato plant to fend for itself. It is my hope that they, finding that plant easier to get at will leave my delicious Black Krims alone.
    Little smirking tree climbing fancy tailed rats better look out, I gave The Curmudgeon permission to dig out his BB gun too.
Home made or boxed?
Recently I got into a discussion with some friends and thought I’d bring the discussion here.
My preference in the comfort food category of macaroni and cheese is home made, completely from scratch, using the sharpest cheddar cheese one can find.
Two of my friends said they prefer Kraft macaroni and cheese.

Loving the cool nights
It is now down to a comfortable 63 degrees tonight and the AC is off for a change. The beauty of saving a little money is unparalleled.
I am really loving not having the constant drone of three AC units going.
It’s nice to have the windows and doors open once again. To have fresh air, I can even tolerate the noisy neighbors blasting their stereo if I have to, to go without running the AC.
Cue crickets. You all have a good one.
