Yep, it’s fall.

Fall is here for sure. I spent yesterday afternoon outside raking and using the leaf blower. Holy cow! I was beyond beat and dehydrated when I finally finished. I do believe some very sore muscles are in my near future.

Lucy hates that her leaves are gone. She won’t stay that way for long because the trees still have plenty to give her. She loves to combat crawl through the leaves.

For now, you all have a good one and enjoy some of our fall colors.

Busy day yesterday and sad day today.

Yesterday I took Gavin to the vet for his yearly check up. All things taken into account (such as his age) he is in good health. The appointment with all the tests cleaned out any extra cash I may have had this month.

So much for a big Thanksgiving dinner. We didn’t need it anyway. I’ll make a simple chicken dinner with Stove Top Stuffing, gravy, a veggie, and some cranberry sauce. The Curmudgeon will be happy. I won’t be stressed…yep, it’s perfect.

Last but not least, Today would’ve been Mary’s 57th birthday, she was born on my parent’s anniversary. Love you kiddo, I will always miss you. Happy 78th anniversary Mom and Dad. I miss you both every day.

You all have a good one.

Keep Momma away from Halloween stuff sales.

OMD! The Momma should never be allowed to go shopping without supervision!

HPIM4199Sir. Yes, you sir. I need to inspect your candy.

HPIM4200Show me the candy and no one gets hurt.

HPIM4201Such a serious paw shaker.

HPIM4202Yes, little one. I see it.

Happy Birthday to our Gavin!

He’s a whole thirteen years old now. Hard to believe that much time has passed since Linda and I picked him up at the airport customs office.

He was eight weeks old and such a cute little guy that everyone in the customs office fell in love with him.

The Curmudgeon didn’t know we were picking him up, he thought Gavin was coming two weeks from then. We fooled him and showed up at his work with Gavin. The dispatcher called him into the office to see someone who stopped in to see him.

I loved the look on his face when he saw me with little Gavin. Priceless!

This is Gavin at 10 weeks.

This is him on his birthday yesterday.

The back drop is up

HPIM4184I ran out of get up and go and had to stop. It’s amazing how warm it was under that porch roof.

HPIM4183We found last year’s doggie costumes. I’m not sure how Lucy felt about that.

HPIM4175Gavin didn’t seem thrilled.

HPIM4179But dang they were so cute.

HPIM4176Really Ma? Pink bats?

He’s up again. Silly old boy.

Gavin was shopping. All you could hear was him rattling around in the toy box. HPIM4152

When he finished, you could tell he’d been busy.

HPIM4153These two didn’t satisfy.

HPIM4154Nor did these two.

HPIM4155Ditto with these.

Next, Miss Lucy will tidy up by putting all of them into her bed. Wish she’d put them into the toy box, but at least she does pick up after herself and Gavin.

What’s gotten into him?

Gavin, my can’t-stay-awake-past-7 p.m. dog has suddenly become a night owl. It seems he is now in competition with Lucy as to who can stay up the latest.

Sigh.

It was so much easier when he slept and she got cuddles. Now they both want to be on my lap all the time.

LOL. And to top that off I think The Curmudgeon is getting jealous that they both want me.

HPIM1802Arrrr, da Mumma is mine!

HPIM3977Nope, she be mine!

Hehehe… Lucy doesn’t like to be repeated.

HPIM4149This is one of our new toys.

It repeats what you say or, in Lucy’s case, what you bark.

Lucy was not amused.

However, we were quite amused.

They love pizza bones

Yesterday was not a healthy food day. We had pizza for dinner. We have Domino’s pizza for dinner about once a month or so. The Curmudgeon gets his favorite of the day and I get an Artisan pizza.

The dogs love pizza night because they get pizza bones. (Pizza crusts) You never saw two happier dogs as when I announce that we are getting pizza for dinner.

We have a good rapport with our Domino’s after all these years. They always get our order perfect. Two of the drivers, that have been with them for years, know us by our first names and call out hello to the pups when they deliver here too.

HPIM3959Did someone say pizza?

I always miss the best shots.

Even with my camera in hand I couldn’t get any shots of Gavin merrily hucklebutting from living room to kitchen and back. Every time I’d get him in the frame and go to hit the button, he’d bounce out of frame.

Idiot dog. Love him to death and would sure love to have a decent enough camera to catch those wonderful shots I can’t get this one to capture.

One day. A good camera is not on the top of my priority list. Not when I need the front porch repaired, a patio, the yard leveled, painting done, dry wall up in two rooms, yeah and many more things. Nope a camera is not on the top of my list.

Ew, wet dog smell all day.

I swear these two dogs are so different from each other. It rained yesterday and Gavin had no problem going out even in the worst of it. However, Miss Lucy imagined she might melt her sugary self if she got the least bit wet.

The only time they are anything alike is at meal time. Both are eager eaters and will dance about and holler for their food while we fix it for them. What a hoot.

Bed time, Gavin wants in his crate, he wants the door shut, and he wants the cover down. Lucy would rather sleep on the couch wrapped up like a fuzzy, grey burrito in the soft and fuzzy blanket.

They both snore but I think the little girl snores louder. 😉

The old pup is soon another year older.

Gavin saw some old friends yesterday. He hadn’t seen them in ages. The old boy acted like a young pup. He does take a lot of joy in seeing old friends. He’s never forgotten a single person he ever met.

It’s fun to see him bounce around and wag his tail like crazy. Some days it’s hard to believe he’ll be thirteen on November first, especially when he’s playing with Lucy. After a while, he does tire out and heads for his crate, peace and quiet, and sleep.
