When do you ‘unfriend’ someone on FB?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I unfriended someone on Facebook today. I’ve only done it once before. That was a person who spouted a lot of racist and homophobic remarks who revealed to me someone who in actual physical life would not be a person I’d have as a friend.
Today’s person was someone who shared many of the same ideals I do. However, she revealed her deeper, truer nature over the past few days and I didn’t like what I was seeing.
It began with a thread stealing rant on a page, not hers, where she insulted the page owner, a person for which I have a great deal of respect. Not something you want to do around me if you want to retain my friendship. The insults she hurled and the entire rant had nothing to do with the thread. Strikes one and two.
The next day, she began a vitriolic name calling session directed at people who did not deserve her attitude. Yeah, maybe she’s had a few bad days, but that is no excuse.
The old adage of ‘if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything’ comes to mind.
As I said, I don’t often unfriend, but she went too far and made me uncomfortable with her attitude. I don’t need someone like that as a friend.

Where are they today?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
The Curmudgeon was waxing sentimental this past evening, dragging me with him back to high school, a place I would just as soon forget. Only good that ever came out of that place was him.
Anyway, he was talking about old friends and started to wonder what had happened to some of them. Others we already know about or he talks to them still. One friend in particular stood out in those he had no idea what had happened to them.
I decided to try to find out. Wouldn’t you know, I found him on Facebook. I friended him and am hoping he replies. I can’t wait to see The Curmudgeon’s face when I say, “Hey, remember so and so? Well, I found him.”
Maybe I’ll be able to get The Curmudgeon to start his own Facebook page.

Time to cut back on Facebook
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I was scrolling down my Facebook page thinking about what to post here tonight, when suddenly the page was not there. All I had, was an error message from Facebook, and I sort of panicked. That’s when I realized that I spend entirely too much time on Facebook.
It is time for me to drastically cut back on the time I spend online and mostly the time I spend on Facebook. I do not need another time drain in my life. To all my dear Facebook friends, I will be around but not nearly as much as I have been, I hope, if I have any sort of self-control that is…
You all have a good one!

BBQ ribs!!!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
A Facebook friend gave me a fabulous recipe for ribs starting with a wonderful dry rub and then a slow cooking method. Well, I used the dry rub, had the ribs in it for 10 hours. Then I put them into my crock pot with sliced onions under them and I poured a small amount of apple juice into the pot. I cooked them on high for two hours and then turned them to low for three hours. The last hour, I slathered them with BBQ sauce. They were as yummy as they look.
