Busy day yesterday…

Starting to box and set aside items for our spring yard sale.
This toy fire truck, a Vintage Smith Miller SMFD No. 3 Aerial Ladder Fire Truck, B Mack Cab/L Mack Rear, from the 1950’s will not go out unless I find a person willing to pay a premium price for the toy. It is quite large and metal. Best offer over $400.00 gets it. The Curmudgeon was never allowed to play with it so it is in mint condition.
Shawnee Tom the Piper’s Son and S&P Shakers–$160.00 OBO.… will go out.
As will this guitar.
This crock
And this 1952 1953 1954 Hudson Wasp Medallion Ornament OEM parts RARE vintage part!
This could be the last sale day

We had a lovely day yesterday and today is supposed to be even nicer. I hope that means we’ll have many people stop at the MIL’s house for the yard sale. G and I plan to set things up early, get signs out, and even have balloons to attract attention. I’m hoping we sell a lot so this will be the end of it until we start working on the basement. Whatever we don’t sell, we will begin hauling to Goodwill.
Most of the living room furniture is supposed to go today. That will clear out a lot. Now if only I can find someone who wants the organ….
Wish us luck!

You begin to ask if anyone is looking for a Shawnee Tom the piper’s son teapot in excellent condition. How about the flowerpot salt and pepper shakers DH’s mother bought with the teapot way back before she married his dad? No, those WON’T be in the yard sale.
Then there’s the darling silk and seed pearl headband hat circa 1950 we found that looks as though it was never worn along with three pair of white gloves all different. It’s getting interesting because the deeper we dig, the nicer the stuff we find.
We haven’t even finished clearing the one bedroom yet. However, It’s the next bedroom that should really be interesting since it’s almost floor to ceiling with ‘stuff’ OMG.
While doing this project G and I have both vowed to clean out our dressers, attics, and basements. I do believe we’ll have yard sale signs up this summer. I guess this is a good thing.
