No energy = picture post.

I am so tired that instead of writing a post I am going to do another picture post. Then I am going to bed.
On the herbs of a dilemma…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Drove over to Ollie’s and found four nice pots, three of which I planted, two with basil and one with rosemary. Now I need to find another herb to plant in the last pot.
The Curmudgeon suggested dill but I have that growing in a pot with one of the tomato plants. I have chives in another one. I have lavender and mint growing in the gardens. I am debating putting parsley or cilantro in the pot. It is a tall and narrow pot.
Any suggestions out there?
I can’t wait for the tomatoes to start coming in.

Yes, I’m pushing it since I only got them into the pots two days ago. Speaking of which, I need to go buy two more large pots. I ran out of room and still have some basil, rosemary, and peppers to plant.
The Curmudgeon has agreed to go to a store with me today. I’m not sure if he will actually go in the store or wait in the car but at least he’s going to leave the house.
The sunflowers and geraniums that I planted in the pots on the front porch yesterday look nice. I also loaded some Texas Bluebonnet seeds into the pots. If they grow, I’ll get a nice bit of blue in each planter.
I’ve dumped the soil I took out of all the pots into the garden by the pond. The ground there can use some better soil.
Once I finish the planting, I need to get my car over to the dealer for a recall and her first check up. She now has a bit over eight hundred miles on her.
You all have a good one!

Let the veggie garden begin
Posted by doggonedmysteries
The last few years, due to lack of energy, strength, and help, I’ve cut my veggie garden down to a few pots instead of the large plots I used to have in my yard.
Yesterday, on my way home from the grocery store, due to road construction, I passed by one of my favorite little intercity nurseries so naturally, since I had no frozen foods, I stopped in.
She always has wonderful plants and in forty years, her plants have never failed me. I bought three varieties of tomatoes, two eggplants, two varieties of peppers, and a bunch of Basil plants. I would’ve bought more but she only takes cash or checks, and since I didn’t have my check book along, and what I bought nearly cleaned me out of cash, I had to stop. Dang it.
Today I have to go get more soil for my pots so I can finish planting what I bought…
You all have a good one!

Almost ready for summer.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Wow, a sunny but cool day. I managed to get some more yard work done yesterday. Trimmed several small, low hanging branches from the magnolia tree so The Curmudgeon can walk under it without banging his head.
I’ve run out of yard waste barrel space so have to wait until after recycling pick up to clear out more.
Enjoyed watching the two frogs bask in the sun on a slab of slate beside my Pan fountain. They would sit there for a while then dive into the pond and go back to the slab. Sounds like something I should have been doing…Maybe… if had been warmer.
I dragged the picnic table out of the shed and put the legs on it. Put the end table out by the bench too so the yard is getting there. Next, I tackle the hammock stand and hammock.
I still need to clear out the vines from the back corner of the yard and next to the shed. Then I need to spray weed killer outside the fence.
You all have a good one.

Lucious Lilacs.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Two steps out the back door and the marvelous fragrance of lilacs overwhelms me. Heaven. I have miniature lilac bushes some in the front of the yard and some in the back, and then I have a regular lilac in the side garden. All are in full and heavy bloom.
