So now I have a new cell phone, an LG Rebel LTE.
I guess this means I have another time suck in my life. Or at least I have had one all day and half the night as I set things up the way I wanted.
Not being a fool I had the kid that sold me my phone and network get everything up and running before I left the store.
Next stop was to take G and I out to lunch at a local diner. Best Gyros ever!
Then we went to my car dealer where they linked my phone to the car’s Bluetooth connection. Like I said, I’m no fool.
Once home, I spent a few hours getting to know my phone and the few apps it has on it for now. I’ll get around to adding more later.
I even loaded my music on it.
Yep, I am treating it the same way I have all my computers from the old Commodore on. I am exploring everything and learning all about my new companion.
I hate having a cell phone. I do not want to be connected to the world 24/7. Which means, unless I need it, it won’t be turned on.
It’s paid for a year ahead. Even caught the phone at half price on sale.
Maybe that’s why I had all that trouble buying one before. I wasn’t meant to have it until I could get it cheap. LOL!
It does take nice pictures…

Hooked on Battlebots
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I can’t help it.
When the show is on, I drop everything to watch it.
Had someone taken the time to nurture my interests in science and computers when I was a teen instead of not allowing me to take the classes I wanted to take, things may have been a lot different for me.
As it is, I taught myself to use computers, and my interest in animatronics and robotics might surprise people one day.

Still no cell phone
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I still don’t have a cell phone.
There are several reasons why I don’t have one and maybe two reasons why I need one.
I really don’t want to be connected 24/7.
I have always hated being on the phone after working in offices where you had to deal with them constantly.
I think people are rude when they are always on their phones and not actually with the people they are with.
When in the company of others, turn off your phone.
People need to get used to not spending every minute of every day on the phone. They need to pick their heads up and see the world around them.
Be aware of their surroundings.
You could miss something beyond amazing and never know it.
I need a phone because of The Curmudgeon’s health.
I need a phone because there are no more public phones and I have no way to get help if I break down somewhere.
I have made several attempts to get a phone. I failed each time for various reasons.
Here’s your chance…sell me a phone and a cell phone company.
A nap, a nap, my kingdom for a nap…

Eyes slamming shut.
Head falling toward the keyboard.
Signs I am in need of sleep.
However, once I manage to curl up on the couch, I am then wide awake.
Will I ever have a normal sleep pattern again?
Wish I could sleep like she does.

They say as you get older…

Time moves faster… No kidding, it does. I can’t believe it is already August! July flew past.
Last night I sat at the table getting The Curmudgeon’s month worth of medications set up for August. So very glad I bought the monthly system for his pills. It saves me so much time, effort, and energy every month. Amazon carries it if you want one too. It also has a clock you can set to remind you to take your pills up to four different times a day–you have to buy it separately though.

Face book diet… :)
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I’ve cut back to twice a day and I find it refreshing. I find that I don’t miss spending time on Face book.
Although, it still hasn’t helped me get more things done around here, it has knocked down my stress levels a bit.
It’s amazing how easily one can get hooked on a social media.

Attached to my hip

Yes, Lucy is a like a big white tumor on my hip whenever I sit on the couch.
She can’t get close enough.

Okay, so both are done for a year…

The Curmudgeon had to get his truck over for inspection.
I couldn’t go along because our Five star Home Foods guy was coming to take our order at the same time.
Thank goodness for G. She followed him over and brought him home.
Thank goodness for his ice vest too, it kept him cool in this brutal heat.

Things they don’t tell you about MS
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Cognitive troubles.
No fun at all.
They don’t tell you how they creep up and then BAM! They hit you with their best shot.
There are days when I wish I could leave, but who would take care of him then?
Would they know when his brain was not all there?
I am tired of telling him to speak up, he does a lot of mumbling and sometimes speaks barely above a whisper and yet I am supposed to hear him.
Right …hear him over the blasting TV that he has to blast to hear because the rude neighbors across the street play music so loud it shakes the house.
They don’t tell you how mean spirited a person can get.
It’s frustrating, heartbreaking, and way more stressful than anyone should have to put up with.
I am one lottery win away from running.

I’ve been framed!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Finally took all the stuff over to get framed.
Had to bring some of it back home to wait for a later date.
Yep, it isn’t cheap to get a bunch of things framed right.
I’m down to having 5 prints and two cloth items still needing frames. I hope to do that soon.
I will have four prints and a Heather Galler original all framed and home by mid-week next week. Can’t wait!
