Maybe I’ll weed the garden

From all indications it should be a good day to work in the yard today.

Low to mid seventies with a nice breeze.

If my back holds out long enough I might get some of the side beds cleared of weeds and ready for mulching.

I am picturing pulling out my hammock stand and setting my hammock up for escape reading.

If only the weather stays dry enough for long enough.

Here it is already plunging towards mid June and I haven’t had a chance to get anything done outside. It’s either been too wet or too hot.

I hope we get some nice days for a long enough time to enjoy them.

Play in the dirt

Lovely sleeping weather

Ah, it’s lovely when the temperature drops to the low sixties and we can turn off the AC and open the house up to the fresh air.

We all sleep better.

The pups are snoring and dreaming.

I managed to get half the clutter cleared from my desk.

love him or shoot him

Holy crap, look at all the crap.

Sitting here staring at the junk pile that is my desk. I cannot believe how much accumulation there is. I need to somehow find the time and energy to clear it off and organize it once again.

Maybe clearing my desk will make me move on around the room and clean up the clutter.

Once the living room is uncluttered can the kitchen be far behind?

The back porch?

The second floor?

The attic?

Yeah, like that will ever happen.

I run

Grass seed + mouse = fat mouse

So the other day I raked up a bare spot just outside the back door and loaded it with grass seed.

Now we have a mouse that dashes away, diving under the grill, every time we go out the door.

Lucy has come close to catching it a few times.

Ew.

If he keeps eating the grass seed he’s going to get fat and slow and then she will catch him.

Gross.

It’s going to be so pretty!

Yesterday, I finally got the petunias in the planter boxes on the front porch.

I should have planted them earlier in the day before the porch heated up.

By the time I finished, I was drenched in sweat.

Yes, I believe in global warming. It shouldn’t be this hot this early.

HPIM5040I’ll post more pictures as the summer goes on.

This is two petunia plants per box.

The shovel is part of all the crap the porch repair guy left and never cleaned up.

Yes, I went back to porches.com and redid his rating.

Dropped it a lot.

Anyone need a shovel, a tarp, and can dump all the other crap he left?

Another pharmacy run today…

I feel as though I spend half my time in the pharmacy.

Yesterday, I sat waiting for prescriptions that they didn’t have and they neglected to tell me that. The ones they did have, they could have told me were ready, and not let me wait forever for the fictional third one.

Oh, yeah. The fictional third one is ready today so back I go. UGH!

This is why I have all mine sent by mail.

Bone weary

I can’t understand why I feel tired to the marrow of my bones every danged day.

I do know that my eyes won’t close before 4 a.m. no matter how tired I am.

Lucy, without fail wakes me around 9 a.m. to go out and will go back to bed until around 10:30 or 11.

If I have a huge need for or desire for a nap in the afternoon, then everyone and his brother calls me or rings the doorbell.

Sleep …the breakfast of champions?

Time was…we danced…we don’t any more.

Sitting here watching the British comedy ‘As Time Goes By’ when in the final scene Jean and Lionel slow dance.

It made me cry.

Why?

Because it’s one thing I truly miss. The Curmudgeon and I used to dance together a lot.

Now he can’t get around without a rollator. No more dances for us.

Had to turn the AC on today

Do you think she’s happy about it?

Six cups of coffee.

Two five-hour energy drinks.

And I am still falling asleep at the keyboard.

All thanks to our old fiend the Microsoft scammer. (No, I didn’t misspell it he is a fiend.)

This Microsoft scam caller woke me at 8:30 a.m. (I went to bed after 4 a.m.)

Please make his day eventful!!!!

Opening line…

For about a week now I have had an opening line buzzing around in my brain. Nothing else, just an opening line.

Not an idea, well… maybe an inkling of an idea, but not much else.

I did write it down.

I’d hate to lose it because I rather like it.

Writing a blank page

Yes, I tend to stare at a blank page for what seems like forever. The words don’t come. I’ve lost my words.

People tell me to relax, they will come back. I’m not so sure.

I had an opening for a book pop into my head yesterday and had to scramble for a pen and paper so I wouldn’t lose it like I’ve lost so many words before.

May that MRI I had will find them.
