If you had a secret room…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
What would it look like? Where would it be?
The side you see here would be my secret room. If I had this room, I’d spend most of my time in there. The rest of my time I’d spend in the garden.
You all have a good one!

Warm with rain…bye bye snow. Or is it?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Fast melting snow and our yard =?
MUD
Temperature plummets, winds kick up to 40 Mph, and rain turns to snow? Only advantage I see is the possibility of the ground drying some. I REALLY NEED a patio here.
You all have a good one!

Teetering on the edge
Posted by doggonedmysteries
That’s me, teetering on the edge of sanity and 59. In a couple of weeks I’ll be over the edge and hit 60. OMG! 60! I never imagined hitting 60. Seems as though, after this winter, I won’t exactly hit 60 as much as it will hit me.
Just took the dog’s outside and it is a mere nine degrees. About takes your breath away out there. The forecast says it will drop to 3 degrees before morning.
I really need Spring to hurry up and get here before I lose the few threads of sanity holding me here. I want to get out of the house, go for walks, go fishing, work on my garden, play in the dirt and get my sanity back on track. This winter was far too long and too brutal.

Fun? Not yet.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I pity the pups. They are as sick of the snow-covered ground as we are. Neither one wants to go outside for more than a minute or two.
Looks like we’re supposed to get snow today and Friday night. Here’s the forecast for today.
WE ARE EXPECTING A LIGHT SNOWFALL EVENT TO OCCUR COINCIDENT WITH THE MORNING COMMUTE TOMORROW. GENERALLY AROUND AN INCH SHOULD FALL ACROSS THE NON-ADVISORY AREAS AND COULD GREATLY IMPACT THE MORNING COMMUTE AS THE SNOW WILL BEGIN TO STICK INSTANTLY TO ALL UNTREATED SURFACES. THE SNOW SHOULD END RELATIVELY QUICKLY FROM WEST TO EAST LATE TOMORROW MORNING.
IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING TOMORROW MORNING, BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. BE SURE TO LEAVE PLENTY OF ROOM BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND THE ONE AHEAD OF YOU.
Oh fun…NOT.

No, I’m not trading in my van already.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I keep getting calls from the dealership, “Trade in your van for a new model today!”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“It is completely paid for and hasn’t even got a thousand miles on it yet.” Yeah, yeah. I know, I’ve had it two years, but I honestly don’t get out much. LOL!
I love my van, I will probably be driving this van for the rest of my life. They don’t get it. 😀

I need a computer geek
Posted by doggonedmysteries
My browser is screwed up. Therefore this is going to be short.
Between that nonsense and the damned ice and snow, I am not a happy camper.
Another few reasons why I need a keeper.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I forgot my morning pills again. Finally remembered them two hours later. I’m doing this a lot lately. If not a keeper, I need an alarm to remind me.
I also completely forgot about the load of wash I had sitting in the kitchen at the top of the basement steps. Midnight and that load of wash just went into the washer.
I’d pulled some stuff from the freezer to thaw for dinner and then not once but twice went digging through the freezer for something for dinner. Yeah, I need a keeper.

Is there no end to this winter?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
My goodness I really don’t know what we’d do without the woman who clears our walks and driveway. Arlene was here yesterday in the ugliest of weather and cleared the nasty, icy snow away. She’s a real gem.
Two more storms are heading our way. (Sob) I need a beach.
Spring, can you hear us pleading for you to arrive?
Speaking of Spring, I’ll be needing volunteers to help fill in the pond, level the yard, build raised beds, and transplant flowers… *Watching people scatter in the opposite direction. Yeah, I thought not.

Snow break…
Posted by doggonedmysteries
More freaking snow, a lot of it. Momma is not happy and when…well, you know how that goes.
Neither pup is pleased with this weather. Cold, snowy, windy, yeah they are not happy about it. I never saw two dogs go out, pee, and come back inside faster than what they’ve been doing. 🙂
I cannot stress enough how blessed we are with the woman who clears our walk and driveway. I know I am not able to do all that shoveling these days.
It used to be that we shoveled all our neighbor’s walks. The Curmudgeon would run the snow blower clear down the street on both sides while I shoveled porches and steps.

Every day is new throw of the dice.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Over the next several weeks I will be experimenting with my writing in hopes to hit a new groove and get my books finished. So be prepared for some nonsense and, I hope, fun.
I have been in such a horrible brain freeze for almost a year now, and that frightens me. I don’t know if it’s my medications or just the stress of daily life here at Casa Doggonedmysteries.
Stress like today. I hear The Curmudgeon’s voice come over the phone which wakes me with a jolt. Then, with heart pounding and adrenalin taking a quick jog though my system, I dashed to downstairs to find him on the kitchen floor. I couldn’t get him up.
Once I made him comfortable, I dashed back upstairs to get dressed, and then ran over to get the neighbor to help. He got The Curmudgeon up and to his chair. We haven’t had a day like this since he started the new medication. I hope this is an aberration.
Later, he was able to go upstairs and climb into bed for a long rest. After midnight, he came back downstairs and seemed much improved. Let’s hope the improvement continues.
You all have a good one.

Face Off, a new season.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I shouldn’t have been surprised that Face Off immediately addicted me the first season. I love watching the creation of creatures and characters.
Last night a new season began and thanks to the DVR and being able to set a reminder and have it even switch to the channel I didn’t miss it.
Looking forward to the next episodes.
Happy Birthday Curmudgeon!!!
