Migraines suck.

“I’ll tell them.”

“No, let me.”

“You got to last time.”

“We can both tell them.”

“Momma has a migraine.  She hasn’t had one in years.  She will see you all tomorrow.”

I’ll buy stuff but…

I have serious doubts as to me ever doing another online auction as a donator of items, at least not in the winter months.

We had more delays in getting the stuff in the mail than I care to admit.  The weather being a major portion of the hold ups.  Blizzard, icy roads, and the temperature dipping below freezing.

The last delay was the cold knocking my van’s battery out of commission and leaving me stranded.  Finally got the car going and managed to get the packages in the mail.

You all have a good one!

Rain on top of snow makes ice and slush.

It’s true!  My driveway and sidewalks are covered in ice.  The yard is ice and slush much to the dogs consternation.

The temperature is 36 degrees at present.  Yeah, that’s real fun… rain on top of ice and snow also makes fog.

Here’s hoping all this crappy weather gets out of here fast.

You all have a good one and stay warm!

Yep, it’s a blizzard…January 3, 2014

Too much snow coming down outside.  The dogs are NOT happy with it at all.  Neither am I.

I have shoveled the back steps and sidewalk three times already and it looks as though I never touched them.  My back is not thrilled with me at the moment.

If you are in the snow as we are,  snuggle in and stay warm!  You all have a good one!

How to murder a murder of crows.

For some odd reason this didn’t publish last night.

Any ideas would be welcome.  We have a murder of crows, they live in the cemetery and they hang in our yard.  They are going to be the death of our dogs.

They’ve been leaving ‘gifts’ in the yard.  The damned garbage pickers keep dropping bones of every sort into the yard.  Gavin is quick to grab them and has never in his life dropped anything out of his mouth when we’ve told him to drop it.

So far he’s 2 to our 5 but each one he succeeds in getting could mean a zipper surgery for him.  It seems that no matter how careful we are on checking the yard he manages to find them.

How does one murder a murder of crows?

Aren’t all houses money pits?

The Curmudgeon woke at six in the morning yesterday to the strong odor of oil burner exhaust.  I didn’t smell it because, due to his MS,  I sleep in another room and I always sleep with a window open.

He hit the emergency switch, shutting the furnace down, and called the furnace repair shop.  They sent someone over directly.  A few hours later he handed The Curmudgeon a bill for $714.00.  There went a quarter of our savings.

The front porch is in dire need of repair, the windows on the back porch need replacement, both the back and front doors need replacement, The yard needs repair, the pond filled in and the area leveled, and at some point, I need to get painting…

You all have a good one.

A picture… or two

Gone but not forgotten

Nice day

Yay!  65° yesterday!!!  All the snow is gone!  Even the dogs are pleased.

Other than that, it was a quiet day here at Casa Doggonnedmysteries.  The Curmudgeon had a restless night, couldn’t sleep in the afternoon, and I hope that doesn’t make his walking bad tomorrow.

I, on the other hand, slept like a baby with my new CD player playing my sleep CD all night.  Color me happy.

You all have a good one!

A picture is worth…what?

So the snow finally got here…

HPIM3459Taken through the kitchen window.

The snow began to come fairly steady by the afternoon yesterday.  At one point, I looked out the window to see this fat squirrel sitting in the tulip poplar, using his tail for a hat.

I had to call The Curmudgeon to the window so he could also get a laugh.

We didn’t get a lot of snow, we’ll see what happens over night and into the day.  This is NOT my favorite weather.

I dragged out my winter boots and warmed them on the radiator.  Believe me I was glad to have them when I took the dogs out because both of them decided it was playtime.  Dogs and their first snowfall of the year are like kids.  By the third snowfall they are more like me.  ‘Let’s see how fast I can do this.’

You all have a good one.  We’ll be hunkering down and keeping warm.

A foggy night…I love it!

When I took the garbage out, I had to stop and take in the sight of the heavy fog blocking out anything half a block away.  I do love when the fog cloaks the cemetery.  Shades of Bela Lugosi!  You almost expect him to walk up and tap you on the shoulder.

Two a.m. and the temperature is up to fifty-seven degrees, the warmest it has been all day…um …well, night.  Strange weather we’re having for sure.

Yesterday afternoon the fog wasn’t as dense but still had us pretty well socked in.
