RIP to both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas

My opinion may not be popular, but I feel so sorry for the family and friends  left behind to grieve, and angry that they, yes I said they,  pulled such stunt that endangered others. Two grown men were in the car and had to be in agreement to the reckless act for it to happen.

I find it very sad that Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, men old enough to know better, are dead because they thought that a car was a toy to be played with and were speeding on a public street.

Have I run out of wall space yet?

    Not on your life.

I put the third picture up on the wall  and I still have room for more.     HPIM3410

If you can’t see it well enough…

HPIM3409 Here it is.

HPIM3411This one is my absolute favorite picture…a water color by Maggie Burns. What a fabulous talent she is.

No, we don’t stuff ourselves and watch football.

Thursday, I’ll throw together a dinner for two.  Nothing special… some ham, green beans, and canned yams.  Maybe I’ll defrost two pieces of cheesecake for our dessert. We aren’t big into holidays after Halloween passes.

Once this week is FINALLY over with, I can get back to a somewhat normal life.  Although, going shopping for normal, every-day items will become more difficult with idiot Xmas shoppers crowding the stores and parking lots.

I really hate this nonsense.  When we did ‘celebrate’ the holiday I had all my shopping done by July or August.  Screw getting a bargain.  It’s no bargain if you have to deal with fools.

You all have a good one!

Busy day yesterday…

Starting to box and set aside items for our spring yard sale.

This toy fire truck, a Vintage Smith Miller SMFD No. 3 Aerial Ladder Fire Truck, B Mack Cab/L Mack Rear, from the 1950’s will not go out unless I find a person willing to pay a premium price for the toy.  It is quite large and metal.  Best offer over $400.00 gets it.  The Curmudgeon was never allowed to play with it so it is in mint condition.  firetruck

Shawnee Tom the Piper’s Son and S&P Shakers–$160.00  OBO.… will go out.

Not finished?

I never realized how many pictures I had to hang on the walls.  Some are new and some have been down for a while.

Yesterday I climbed up and down the ladder so many times I know I’m going to feel it when I wake up.  LOL!  However, it was worth it, it’s so nice to see pictures on my walls.

I still have a few to hang, but the majority of them are up and I am one happy camper.  When I paint, I will take down one wall’s worth at a time and hang them right back up as soon as the paint is dry.

It is a light!

A while back I bought a Satco Nuvo Lighting 60/2409 Moulan 1-Light Mini Pendant with Champagne Linen Glass.  Did not open it until the electrician (The Curmudgeon and neighbor) was here to put it up, the glass is cracked, too late for a return.

I couldn’t find anyone who carries replacements and I need a replacement.  After doing exhaustive online searches for a replacement shade, I finally contacted the company that makes the lights by E-mail.  Within minutes I had an automatic response.  However, a few minutes after that I had a solution.

Hurrah! They are supplying me with a replacement.  I love Satco!!!

HPIM3395I sure do love it even though it is cracked…one can barely see the crack here.

Two more days to new shower…

So the first day went well and the old, nasty pink tub is gone.  The floor for the new shower is in and the rest should be done by the end of today.

However, we’re not supposed to use it for 24 hours after that.  *Already dying for a shower.*

Busy days

Yesterday we had a Verizon guy here changing us from our old cable company to Fios TV.  I already have my phone and computer on  the system.  It took him the longest to get The Curmudgeon’s TV hooked up.  Finally finished it and I knew then, The Curmudgeon’s night was made.

Today, I have to move furniture, do laundry, and get things ready for the next interruption to our lives.

Monday, Bath Fitters arrives early in the morning to start removing the old tub and replacing it with a brand new shower.  This will take them two days.

Unfortunately, depending on how long it takes, Tuesday will have to be split into shifts with The Curmudgeon and me.  We both have to vote and I have a doctor’s appointment.  I’ll stay here while he goes to vote and then when I leave for my doctor’s appointment I can stop to vote on my way.

Looking forward to Wednesday and some quiet.  You all have a good one!

Did you sleep well?

If today is anything like yesterday afternoon, I’ll be going out with my camera.  Destination: next door in the cemetery.  The trees are lovely and I want to get some shots of some favorite tombstones and monuments.

I slept through the high winds yesterday.  Nope, I didn’t hear a thing and I sleep with a window open.  The Curmudgeon told me he had to retrieve our garbage cans from across the street.  Never.  Heard.  A.  Sound.

By the time I got up there was a nice breeze, sun, and it hit 70 degrees.  Quite pleasant.

I did manage to take down the rest of the decorations and get most of them put away in the attic.

You all have a good one!

Spooky!

HPIM3227Getting ready to hang my landscaping fabric…first step in spookifying the front of the house.  Bwahahaha!

HPIM3232*Giggle*  This has not been spookified, my desk always looks like this.

HPIM3221Annie’s voodoo doll almost finished…waiting for another eye that G had…we did finish and deliver it.

Nope, no pictures of the large voodoo doll…yet.

You all have a good one and get spooky!

Let the thermostat battles begin

So, last night The Curmudgeon turned on the heat.  This means for the rest of the year and clear on into late spring, I will suffer from being overheated.

I will turn the thermostat down, he will turn it up and so on.  He is always cold.  I tell him to dress warmer and get growled at.

Isn’t it easier to add more clothes?  I mean one can only remove so much and still be able to answer the door.  I really don’t want to subject anyone to horrifying sight of my naked old body.  😉

Now that I’ve left you with that brain exploding picture in your head…. I’ll say, you all have a good one!
