Allee allee incomefree!

I spent an hour tearing the house apart to find the charger that goes to the new electric screwdriver I bought for The Curmudgeon back in December.  He’s used the charger exactly once.

No luck finding it, so I went on Amazon (where I bought the screwdriver in the first place) and ordered him a new charger.  This is not the first time I’ve had to do this with his stuff.

I swear I will one day find a huge stash of missing items.  I feel as though I am in a game of hide and seek and I’m tired of being it.

Oh, yes! I want it.

Oh, if only we’d hit the lottery for a big sum.  I found a house I’d be calling the realtor about immediately.

It’s not a new home.  It is older than I am…yes, that old!  It has gorgeous hardwood floors, wonderful bones, and character.  Another plus is that it has a fenced in yard for the pups.

It’s not a big home.  No, there would be no McMansion for me.  I have no need or desire for that.  I want a place where The Curmudgeon’s care would be easier.  Where climbing stairs for him is optional.

This house that I found has everything I want.  Come on lottery win!!!  I’d ‘sell’ this house to the next door neighbors for a minor sum, they could use the room.

Really?  Does anyone NEED a house like this?

See ya later Barry.

So yesterday we said our  final farewells to our dear friend Barry.  It was not an easy thing to do .  The services managed to make me cry a lot.  Not a good thing when trying to keep G on an even keel.

I managed to get G a bit blitzed tonight which makes stressful situations a bit easier.

Boy, am I going to have to re-supply my wine supply.

My wine ‘cellar’ has been decimated, but in a good way.  G had a great blowout for her hubby,  Barry

EEEEK!

Help!  My dust bunnies killed my cleaning fairy.  Oh, darn.

Mine are bigger than this and they have nasty sharp teeth and flashing eyes!  Guess I have to get off my bum and get cleaning.

Why is it no one ever wants to buy what I have to sell?

Quite a while ago, I won a lovely folk guitar. Was I ever surprised when it arrived, case and all, because I didn’t remember entering the contest.

Unfortunately, the guitar is way too big for me to play and has sat in its case since the day it arrived except for a quick trip to a local guitar shop to find out if it was worth anything.

After replacing a broken string, the owner played it. He says it has great tone and is worth about $275.00 by itself, with the nylon case he says it should go for about $300.00. Now all I need is to find someone who wants to buy it and will get many years of pleasure from it.

I guess if I can’t find an interested party, it’s off to the local guitar shop to see what they’ll give me for it.  😉

Crap, Monday again.

Lately, I’ve dreaded Mondays more and more.   Mondays are when The Curmudgeon gives himself his Avonex shot and begins a downhill slide for the next four days.  For anyone new to this blog, The Curmudgeon (my husband) has secondary progressive MS.

By Friday he does better.  However, then it is almost Monday again.  It’s a vicious circle and one I’m hoping his next neurologist appointment changes.

He is going to ask his neurologist to stop his Avonex and put him on something else.  Keep your fingers crossed, his next appointment is coming up soon.

You all have a good one.

Let the veggie garden begin

The last few years, due to lack of energy, strength, and help, I’ve cut my veggie garden down to a few pots instead of the large plots I used to have in my yard.

Yesterday, on my way home from the grocery store, due to road construction, I passed by one of my favorite little intercity nurseries so naturally, since I had no frozen foods, I stopped in.

She always has wonderful plants and in forty years, her plants have never failed me.  I bought three varieties of tomatoes, two eggplants, two varieties of peppers, and a bunch of Basil plants.  I would’ve bought more but she only takes cash or checks, and since I didn’t have my check book along, and what I bought nearly cleaned me out of cash, I had to stop.  Dang it.

Today I have to go get more soil for my pots so I can finish planting what I bought…

Time to see the cardiologist again

Tomorrow I have an appointment with my cardiologist.  I hope he’s happy with me.  I’ve tried so hard to make the changes necessary to prevent another heart attack.  It’s been six months since I’ve seen him.

I haven’t smoked a single cigarette since 8/17/2011.   I’ve made significant dietary changes, and I take my medications faithfully.

Although so far there has been no significant weight loss, I have hopes that by the end of the summer there will be.  I would love to step on the scale and be back to my normal weight before the heart attack.

Here’s hoping that all the days at the gym, walking with friends, and moving work.

Brain Games at 9 tonight on Nat Geo channel

I plan to either watch or record to watch this show later.  I’ve always enjoyed the sort of things they are going to do in the show.

Optical illusions are wonderful.  I do wish I could manage to do some sort of clever optical illusion on our porch at Halloween to set things on edge.

A new toy in the kitchen

I ordered a bacon/grill press last week.  It arrived yesterday.  I tested it last night on our breakfast for dinner, dinner.   I made sausage patties and French toast.  These sausage patties are what we get from Five Star Foods.  I love them but I never liked how they’d curl up.  I’d have to snip them four or five times around the edges to keep them flat.

The press worked nicely.  I am pleased, now I can’t wait to use it with my grill pan.  Oh, the paninis and other goodies I will make!

You all have a good one!

I accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday…again.

Ever have one of those days where you pop out of bed all eager and ready to embrace the day and get things done?  Yeah, I don’t either.

I don’t know about you but I tend to look at the clock, roll over, and try to get ‘a few more minutes’ in.  If I’m lucky, those few more minutes turn into maybe a half hour and some good dreaming.  I’m seldom lucky.

Normally, I hear The Curmudgeon fussing at the dogs or moaning and groaning about heaven knows what on the TV.  That will definitely make you want to roll over and squeeze out a few minutes or hours of more sleep.

When I do drag my over-tired, over-stressed corpse out of bed, I try to put off going downstairs a while longer by doing some Yoga.  I somehow miss out on finding Nirvana though…If you ever do find it let me know what it was like.

Pictures because I am lazy today…

In case any of you have wondered what my desk top looks like, this is what is on my right side and on the top.

Yes, there are two skinny pictures to keep reminding me of my goal.  No, we won’t talk about all my toys.  😛

My batty Pez holder is empty…need more Pez.
