Some of them are raised right.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
As is the case in the city, we seldom can find youngsters willing to help with the odd job or two around here that I haven’t the energy to do lately and The Curmudgeon can’t do.
Yesterday, I was fortunate to find two young men interested in making some pocket-money. I had reached the end of my energy and still had quite a bit of work to do. Things were terribly overgrown outside my fence. The boys walked away twenty dollars richer, full of root beer, and I was able to cool down and recharge. I did ask them to come back from time to time because I was sure I could find things for them to do.
It’s nice to know that there are still a few kids around who had parents interested enough in them to raise them right.

Get some rest

Yeah, like that’s going to happen. The Curmudgeon is having a couple of bad days here now, probably because of me going into the hospital and him stressing out. In other words, no one waits on me and lets me lounge about.
Five loads later, I’ve caught the washing up except for two bedspreads but I’ll need detergent before I can do them. I cleaned the kitchen, watered the plants, and the dogs made sure they got everything they wanted.
The Curmudgeon did manage to mow the grass yesterday, only because the morning was a bit cooler. It was nice to walk out into the yard and not be almost knee-deep in grass.
I am tired and heading to bed soon. You all have a good one!

Did you notice I was gone for a day?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Spent Tuesday and most of Wednesday in the hospital. All is well. Wasn’t feeling very well Tuesday when I got up and after I showered and dressed was feeling worse. Had some mild symptoms similar to when I had the heart attack, so I had The Curmudgeon call an ambulance. I wasn’t taking any chances.
They sent me home yesterday around 6 p.m. all clear. They did adjust some medications to lower dosages added a new one and took me off another. My potassium levels were too low so they have me taking some now too. My cholesterol levels are great according to them. All my blood tests came back good and the echocardiogram stress test was very good.

Before and after…

I do need to find new rugs…the old ones are worn thin.
I’m so happy to finally have new furniture even though we’ll be paying that charge off forever.

Shoot me now.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
There are days when The Curmudgeon seems to be determined to drive me round the bend. Today was such a day.
When I thought he’d finally gone to bed and out of my hair, I was wrong.
He wandered back down, “Can’t sleep.”
Dang, there’s goes my quiet time, my writing time, my me time…again. This coming back down is becoming a habit with him. I need to break this habit. The man wants to have a conversation, this means any more writing at this time is not possible.
You all have a good one.
I bought new furniture!

My furniture is a total wreck it needed replacing for a long time now. I took The Curmudgeon to the store to see what I’d picked out on my foray with Annie. He really liked the couch, found a lounge chair he liked better, and helped me settle on a chair and ottoman that would suit the house.
Then we charged it and it arrives on Saturday! He figures we might as well, once the MIL’s house money is out of escrow we can write a check for whatever we owe on the charge.

Garden talk
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Hot day again today. I did manage to get some weeding done even though I drenched my clothes twice, definitely need a shower tonight. ;D I now have three barrels of yard waste to put out at the curb again. With all the rain we’ve had the past few days, the soft ground let the weeds go willingly.
My two little frogs are doing well, much to my relief. I have hopes that they are a pair and will later keep a population going.
I am quite pleased with how my potted vegetable garden is doing. It won’t be long and I’ll have tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers!

Silly dogs!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
In between the kitchen and the back porch we have a half-door that we can use when we want the regular door open. I had two dogs telling me to hurry up and get their food in their dishes. Gavin was almost too quick to photograph. LOL!

Indulging myself for change…felt nice.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Some days you just have to do for yourself. Yesterday was one of those days for me. After my walk with Annie I stopped in at a friend’s shop and since we had the place to ourselves for a great deal of the time we spent it getting caught up on each others news. It’s been a while since I stopped in there.
I was a bit relieved to find The Curmudgeon up for a nap and the dogs sound asleep when I got home. I spent the time, until The Curmudgeon woke up, reading. It felt good to have some time for myself for a change.
No one suffered, The Curmudgeon and the pups had their dinners on time.
