Lost Girl is doomed

It never fails, whenever I really, really LOVE a TV show, it invariably is canceled.  Therefore, since I really, really LOVE Lost Girl, you can be certain the cancellation of the show is imminent.

I love the originality of the show, the writing is crisp and terrific,  the characters are beyond excellent.  I’ve heard some of the greatest lines ever come from this show.  This can only mean the death knell is not far behind.

Of course this show is not for everyone.  However, for me it’s one of the best to come along in years.

You all have a good one.

Verizon does a bait and switch

Don’t be fooled when you get a letter in the mail from them that tells you since they are switching everyone over to Fios You really should go and change your bundle.  Hey, we’ll give it to you for 59.99!

Liars!  When it comes up 74.99 that is not 59.99 am I right?  I questioned this and suddenly was on chat with someone from customer service.  They tried to convince me that I should go ahead and order it and then call the company on Monday about the price difference.

I wasn’t born yesterday.  I did NOT ‘buy’ the bundle change, instead I backed out of the page, told the customer service person what I thought of the company and their bait and switch tactics, and left the chat.

I am now going to begin shopping for another internet and phone service–I might even go through my Cable company and to heck with the phone companies altogether.

Updates, or things to write about when I can’t think of anything to write about…

So the roofer is almost finished with the garage roof at the Mil’s house.  I hope this means we can put it on the market soon.  I haven’t done anything over there since the heart attack.

I still need to get the last two pieces of furniture out of that house and over to my house.  We haven’t had any luck finding helpers.  I’d be willing to trade a large Lane cedar chest for help in moving the two items and clearing the attic.

I keep hoping that the elves and faeries will have taken care of everything that needs taking care of over there.  I really don’t want anything else to do with it.

You all have a good one.

My pond is already shaping up

Does this mean that I shouldn’t think about filling it in and finding homes for my Koi yet?   I do know that last year I wasn’t able to keep up with the plants we had in there.  The one was over-growing everything both inside and outside the pond.  Do not get lizard tail plants unless you have a lot of room.

We tore the lizard tail out and pulled the pot it was in out of the pond.  I’m hoping that’s the last I see of that plant.  It was while trimming it back in August when I had my heart attack.

My Koi look happy and healthy.  The little black one is fast catching up in size to the others.  They are mooching food already the finny pigs.  This mild winter we had has them fully ready for warm weather food.

You all have a good one.

Happy birthday to me!

I never thought I’d be quite as happy to celebrate a birthday like I was when I was a child.  However, I am!  I am happy, tickled, delighted, and beside myself with joy that I am celebrating my birthday today.

For those of you who are just starting to read my blog, I must tell you that  I have good reason to be this excited.  I had a heart attack back on August 17, 2011.  I almost didn’t make it to this birthday, but by cracky here I am!

I’ve made lifestyle changes that I hope will give me many more birthdays.  Today I celebrate!

I will dance and sing like no one is watching and listening.  I will get silly any time I desire to do so.  I will laugh.  I will find joy wherever I can.  I will speak my mind.  I will choose my family and friends and will love them fiercely.

You all have a good one!  I know I will!

Unbelievable weather and more energy, can’t be beat!

I can’t believe how incredible the weather has been the last several days.  Never have we had such a warm March.  I’m loving it.

Along with the weather came the chance for more exercise–going for walks and I have taken full advantage of it.  What I find remarkable is I am starting to have more energy again.  (It’s about friggin’ time!)

Yesterday, and the day before, after my walks, I got out a bucket of scrub water, climbed up and down a ladder several times and the ceiling fans in my living room are now sparkling clean.  I am amazed at how filthy they were.  That’s what I call having more energy.

I might even tackle the fan in the bedroom next.  Then there are all those floors that are in need of a good scrub…

Implosion imminent!

If the warranty runs out does it mean the item is soon going to implode?  In our case, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.  That would be a normal occurrence.

Nothing is made to last these days.  Planned obsolescence is on what today’s manufacturers depend.  Appliances no longer last thirty years as they did in the past.  Today, you are lucky to have things last more than a year or two.

We received notification yesterday that our ‘new’ washing machine’s warranty will soon run out.  What????

You all have a good one.

Great day to go walking.

So I didn’t win any money on the scratch-off ticket I bought yesterday.  It didn’t mean it was a bad day.  In fact it was a good day.

The weather was lovely.  G and I went for our walk in the Rose Gardens park.  This time we did the whole trail and used each exercise station except for one that was occupied at the time.

When we finished, we both remarked as to how good we felt.  The entire walk took us a little over half an hour.  We plan to do it again two more times this week.  We’d like to get a small group together to do these walks with us.

We do hope to work out an exercise plan that will take us through all the parks in the city this spring and summer.  We may do a week at one then a week at another.  We’re not quite sure.   We need to factor in a few things like what do we do when the weather is bad?  What if someone is sick?  If we’re running late getting there,  do we call the other members of the group?

Was that an earthquake?

My built-in Bullie earthquakes regularly move the stuff in my curio cabinet.  It’s reached the point where I have actually taken that sticky stuff you find on credit cards and things they send you in the mail and put it on the bottom of a few of my knickknacks to keep them in place.

It sort of works.  However, when I go to dust I have to pull it off the bottoms so I can move the things.

The curio cabinet’s glass is also in constant danger.  Have you ever seen a Bull Terrier prance about with a large bone in her moth, whipping her head from side to side in a victory dance?  “Whee, I stole my brother’s bone!”

Have you ever watched a Bull Terrier hucklebutt and nearly brain himself on a glass door?

If you haven’t, you haven’t lived with one.

You all have a good one!

Keep your eyes on your goals

Even though I hadn’t done much writing since August, it didn’t mean that I wasn’t champing at the bit to do so.  The words just weren’t coming.  I do believe the dam has developed a crack.

I finished a chapter the other day and I am at present working on another.  I won’t jinx it by saying that I’m writing again.  Let’s just say, I am working on writing again.  My goal is to get back into a groove where I am writing at least several hundred words a day.

The goal after that is to get back up to a thousand or more words a day and then the next goal is to finish the friggin’ books that have been staring at me for months at a time!!!

     Wow, I have goals again!

You all have a good one and keep your eyes on your goals.  It’s all one step at a time.

Walking again was wonderful!

G and I went for our walk at the Rose Gardens park yesterday.  They’ve put in new exercise stations along the path.  We had great fun trying them out.  Since this was my first walk in the new shoes, we walked half the park only.  There’s no need to begin this walking for better health project with blisters or very sore muscles.

Weather permitting, we plan to do this at least once a week.  We had fun, we got in our walk, and we did some bonus exercises at the stations.

Next time we’ll add the south half of the park to our walk.  I’m looking forward to checking out the exercise stations over there.  None of them so far were difficult and all were rather fun.

You all have a good one!
