Squirrel 6 us 1

Baited the Havahart trap with the tomato the squirrel stole off the vine, chewed on, and dropped as he tried to run up the tree with it tonight.

Damned thing, I hope he’s just dumb enough to go for it. He’ll find himself transported to a new life.

He’s almost completely stripped us of tomatoes. Makes me so mad since I had my heart set on enjoying them.

Internet connection went to crap

I’ll be lucky if I can get this to post tonight. My internet connection was crap all day and most of tonight.

I can’t even get my Kindle to connect to my WiFi. Thank goodness I got the one with the 3G connection.

With everything fading in and out I’ll just shoot this off to you all and say good night.

the last wordMaybe this will do the trick.

Nope, I don’t like it.

I honestly tried to give the show Dominion a chance. I just cannot get into it. The violence is gratuitous and unnecessary to the story line.  But wait, there is no real story line other than gratuitous violence.

This is not a good versus evil conflict it is an evil versus worse evil crap shoot.

No, I have watched my last episode.

Some days crawl by

From the time I got up yesterday until I was ready to go to bed, the entire time awake went by at a slow crawl. Have you ever had a day like that?

I swear, it was like watching the clock that last class in school.

T    i    c   k.  T   i   c   k.  T   i   c   k.

And yet, I GOT NOTHING DONE!

It crept on by and left me standing in the dust.

Another day shot to hell.

You all have a good one.

Loving the cool nights

It is now down to a comfortable 63 degrees tonight and the AC is off for a change. The beauty of saving a little money is unparalleled.

I am really loving not having the constant drone of three AC units going.

It’s nice to have the windows and doors open once again. To have fresh air, I can even tolerate the noisy neighbors blasting their stereo if I have to, to go without running the AC.

Cue crickets. You all have a good one.

Where was I?…zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I can’t seem to write out a single complete or coherent thought these days much less a chapter in any of my books. All I feel like doing is sleep or eat.

I try to read. My eyelids get heavy. I jolt awake when my Kindle slaps my leg.

I think I am awake and wonder who is snoring only to find it is me and the dog next to me.

A little bit of everything

So far we’ve had a decent summer here. Yes, some days were hot but nothing like what we suffered through the last two years.

These cool nights we are having are fabulous. They make for good sleeping without the constant drone of the AC. They also save us some money too.

Yesterday, I had to run my car over for inspection and its first oil change. Yes, its first one, it finally had enough mileage.

At the same time, The Curmudgeon had a neurologist appointment. I usually take him to his appointments but had to miss this one. He’s scheduled for another MRI and a blood test.

Looks like next week The Curmudgeon’s friend will stop over and get the whole house fan set up for us. I’m so glad.

Lucy and Gavin enjoy each other although at times she gets to be too much for the old boy. That’s when he asks for someone to shut him in his crate with the help me look.

The Daddy says I’m special

HPIM4046Daddy put a new bit of bling on my fancy Collar my World collar.

Can you see it?

It says ‘Special Police’ on it!

Does this mean I am a police dog now?

Watching wolves on TV …

Yesterday, The Curmudgeon was watching a program on wolves.

It caught Lucy’s Attention.

Any wood sculptors out there that want to showcase their talent?

The cemetery near me has several huge horse-chestnut trees they are taking down. There is one tall trunk left by the one gate that G and I think would make a cool sculpture. However, neither one of us has any talent in that direction.

No one could pay you for your work. However, if it is done well and beautiful it would attract huge amounts of attention, thus being great advertisement of your skills.

There is a possibility of having several more large tree trunks available if one was speedy to ask the cemetery for permission and offered the sculpts as free beautification pieces. There are three views of the trunk below.

Heat and MS not a good mix.

The heat got to The Curmudgeon yesterday. By the time I got up he was not in good shape, barely able to walk. It is so frustrating for him.

We had to turn the AC on. It didn’t get cool enough over night to turn it off and the forecast for today is even warmer. There goes the electric bill again.

I wish we could go solar and wind powered so we didn’t have to go broke paying  for our electrical use in warm weather.

The yard work is going nowhere. I don’t seem to have the energy to tackle it. Heck, I don’t seem to have the energy to tackle much of anything these days. The feeling of being overwhelmed has only gotten worse these last couple of months.

I need to get the whole house fan installed and working so we can save a bit of money on cool nights and days. I haven’t the energy to drag myself to the attic and walk through the mess the roofer created up there to do it. Every time I see the mess up there I want to curl up into a ball and cry.

There’s too much to do and not enough of me to do it all.

Please, have a good one, at least then someone does.
