Decompression?

       How do you decompress?

I do wish I could find more than an hour or two to get some writing in.  It seems that any longer than that and The Curmudgeon develops a problem he needs me to attend to immediately.

After The Curmudgeon goes to bed, my brain is fried with the stress of the day and concentration is difficult to come by.  Therefore, I try to settle my brain down by reading.  Again, concentration is difficult but I am getting better at it.

I’ve had days where writing is impossible.  I hate those days.  Usually, those days are ‘a bad day for the curmudgeon’ topped with two dogs starving for attention.  If he’s down, I have to do it all with no break for a breath all day.

I do believe I need to find some way, some time to decompress, relax, get my head on straight so I can work on my books.  Even if it just going to lunch with friends, it still is a form of decompression.

I am working on doing yoga and meditation again, if I can find a minute to myself, that is.

Today I went out to lunch with friends, it felt so good!

You all have a good one!

Decisions, decisions…The Curmudgeon must decide.

Spent our afternoon sitting in the neurologist’s office.  It looks as though they are finally going to change The Curmudgeon from Avonex to something else.  The Avonex has prevented any further damage but his body’s reaction to it is getting worse as time goes on.

He will give himself his injection on a Monday night.  Then for the next four days he’s in rotten shape, having trouble walking, and in general his quality of life sucks big time.  This wasn’t working for us.

He has three choices, one of which is a pill taken twice a day.  “Tecfidera™ is an oral therapy contained in capsules taken two times per
day. Tecfidera, formerly known as BG-12, is dimethyl fumarate, a
formulation that was developed specifically for use by people with
multiple sclerosis.”  He is hoping this is what he gets.  Only problem is, the main side effect which lasts for about six months is the runs.  Oh, fun…NOT.  However, if it eventually improves his quality of life he’s willing to suffer through it.

Another choice is Tysabri it is given once every four weeks by intravenous infusion.  And the third choice, one I doubt he’ll ever use, is Copaxone, it has a higher chance of side effects, is injected every day, and daily injections are something he refuses to do.  Hell, he hates a once a week injection.

You all have a good one.

Why is it no one ever wants to buy what I have to sell?

Quite a while ago, I won a lovely folk guitar. Was I ever surprised when it arrived, case and all, because I didn’t remember entering the contest.

Unfortunately, the guitar is way too big for me to play and has sat in its case since the day it arrived except for a quick trip to a local guitar shop to find out if it was worth anything.

After replacing a broken string, the owner played it. He says it has great tone and is worth about $275.00 by itself, with the nylon case he says it should go for about $300.00. Now all I need is to find someone who wants to buy it and will get many years of pleasure from it.

I guess if I can’t find an interested party, it’s off to the local guitar shop to see what they’ll give me for it.  😉

If you take a lovely day and mix it with two bored dogs, their bored momma, add a hula hoop, and a bag of treats, what do you get?

No energy = picture post.

I am so tired that instead of writing a post I am going to do another picture post.  Then I am going to bed.

On the herbs of a dilemma…

Drove over to Ollie’s and found four nice pots, three of which I planted, two with basil and one with rosemary.  Now I need to find another herb to plant in the last pot.

The Curmudgeon suggested dill but I have that growing in a pot with one of the tomato plants.  I have chives in another one.  I have lavender and mint growing in the gardens.  I am debating putting parsley or cilantro in the pot.  It is a tall and narrow pot.

Any suggestions out there?

Crap, Monday again.

Lately, I’ve dreaded Mondays more and more.   Mondays are when The Curmudgeon gives himself his Avonex shot and begins a downhill slide for the next four days.  For anyone new to this blog, The Curmudgeon (my husband) has secondary progressive MS.

By Friday he does better.  However, then it is almost Monday again.  It’s a vicious circle and one I’m hoping his next neurologist appointment changes.

He is going to ask his neurologist to stop his Avonex and put him on something else.  Keep your fingers crossed, his next appointment is coming up soon.

You all have a good one.

I can’t wait for the tomatoes to start coming in.

Yes, I’m pushing it since I only got them into the pots two days ago.  Speaking of which, I need to go buy two more large pots.  I ran out of room and still have some basil, rosemary, and peppers to plant.

The Curmudgeon has agreed to go to a store with me today.  I’m not sure if he will actually go in the store or wait in the car but at least he’s going to leave the house.

The sunflowers and geraniums that I planted in the pots on the front porch yesterday look nice.  I also loaded some Texas Bluebonnet seeds into the pots.  If they grow, I’ll get a nice bit of blue in each planter.

I’ve dumped the soil I took out of all the pots into the garden by the pond.  The ground there can use some better soil.

Once I finish the planting, I need to get my car over to the dealer for a recall and her first check up.  She now has a bit over eight hundred miles on her.

Slowly getting the veggies in the pots

I wish I’d taken the camera outside with me yesterday, the oriental lilies are beginning to bloom and the bright orange color sets the garden on fire.

I haven’t finished planting all the veggies and herbs, and I haven’t even started on the flowers for the front porch.  Half of yesterday we had rain and then when we finally had some sun I managed to get some of the plants in pots.  Not all of them as my back began to scream at me to stop.

I hope that later today I’ll be able to finish more of them.  I don’t think the front porch pots will be done though.

I also think I am going to have to make a run to a store for another big pot or two.  :\  I’ve got on big pot left on the side of the house to plant and too many plants.

You all have a good one!

Really? Rain again?

We had rain all day again…I accomplished nothing.

Pictures are from Friday.

If you look close you can see my new solar lights in some of the pictures, they work well.  I love how they change colors.

If my back gets better, my garden should too.

If you are going to spam me, at least spell the line of crap message you are trying to sell me, correctly.  😀

We had a gorgeous day today and G and I went to another nursery where we found the composted potting soil I wanted, sunflowers and bright red geraniums for the pots out front and some nice rosemary plants.

Thank goodness for my neighbor’s kids , they hauled the bags of soil into the yard for me.  My back was not up to lugging six forty pound bags around.

My back didn’t allow me to plant much yesterday but there’s always today.

You all have a good one!
