Gavin’s carside vet appointment

It was not as successful as we had hoped it would be. As soon as he realized Doctor Ashley was there, idiot dog wouldn’t even stick his head out of the crate. Not for all the cookies in the world.

Poor Doctor Ashley had to practically climb in the crate with him to do his exam and give him his shot.

So we can write this ‘stress free’ vet trip off as a failure.

My dog is a weirdo. 🙂

Grass seed + mouse = fat mouse

So the other day I raked up a bare spot just outside the back door and loaded it with grass seed.

Now we have a mouse that dashes away, diving under the grill, every time we go out the door.

Lucy has come close to catching it a few times.

Ew.

If he keeps eating the grass seed he’s going to get fat and slow and then she will catch him.

Gross.

It’s going to be so pretty!

Yesterday, I finally got the petunias in the planter boxes on the front porch.

I should have planted them earlier in the day before the porch heated up.

By the time I finished, I was drenched in sweat.

Yes, I believe in global warming. It shouldn’t be this hot this early.

HPIM5040I’ll post more pictures as the summer goes on.

This is two petunia plants per box.

The shovel is part of all the crap the porch repair guy left and never cleaned up.

Yes, I went back to porches.com and redid his rating.

Dropped it a lot.

Anyone need a shovel, a tarp, and can dump all the other crap he left?

Another pharmacy run today…

I feel as though I spend half my time in the pharmacy.

Yesterday, I sat waiting for prescriptions that they didn’t have and they neglected to tell me that. The ones they did have, they could have told me were ready, and not let me wait forever for the fictional third one.

Oh, yeah. The fictional third one is ready today so back I go. UGH!

This is why I have all mine sent by mail.

I took some pictures yesterday…

HPIM5038Better to post pretty pictures than scream about the damned squirrel already stealing small green tomatoes from my plants.

Bone weary

I can’t understand why I feel tired to the marrow of my bones every danged day.

I do know that my eyes won’t close before 4 a.m. no matter how tired I am.

Lucy, without fail wakes me around 9 a.m. to go out and will go back to bed until around 10:30 or 11.

If I have a huge need for or desire for a nap in the afternoon, then everyone and his brother calls me or rings the doorbell.

Sleep …the breakfast of champions?

Time was…we danced…we don’t any more.

Sitting here watching the British comedy ‘As Time Goes By’ when in the final scene Jean and Lionel slow dance.

It made me cry.

Why?

Because it’s one thing I truly miss. The Curmudgeon and I used to dance together a lot.

Now he can’t get around without a rollator. No more dances for us.

Do you think she’s happy about it?

Still waiting for the black iris to bloom

I was hoping to have a picture or two of this year’s blooms, but the buds haven’t opened yet.  In a few more days they should open and I’ll get some pictures.

In the meantime, these are from last year.

Die scammer die!

Six cups of coffee.

Two five-hour energy drinks.

And I am still falling asleep at the keyboard.

All thanks to our old fiend the Microsoft scammer. (No, I didn’t misspell it he is a fiend.)

This Microsoft scam caller woke me at 8:30 a.m. (I went to bed after 4 a.m.)

Please make his day eventful!!!!

Opening line…

For about a week now I have had an opening line buzzing around in my brain. Nothing else, just an opening line.

Not an idea, well… maybe an inkling of an idea, but not much else.

I did write it down.

I’d hate to lose it because I rather like it.

Picture day number… who cares?

When you can’t think of what to write you fall back to pictures.

Took these yesterday.
