The high yesterday was 21…

Which is where it is now.    Wow, we’re having a heat wave!

I think I’ll hibernate until spring.  I hate this weather.  You all have a good one.  I think I’ll build a snowman…

Die winter

Rain on top of snow makes ice and slush.

It’s true!  My driveway and sidewalks are covered in ice.  The yard is ice and slush much to the dogs consternation.

The temperature is 36 degrees at present.  Yeah, that’s real fun… rain on top of ice and snow also makes fog.

Here’s hoping all this crappy weather gets out of here fast.

You all have a good one and stay warm!

OMFG Brrrr!

Avoiding going outside as much as possible.  It is down to 5 degrees.  It has been a while since we’ve been down to single digits and it can stop any time now.

The dogs don’t want to go out until they absolutely MUST go.  Funny to see them dash out, pee, and pee, and pee, and pee, then dash back in.  Next stop for Patty is rolled up into her super soft snuggly blankie.  Gavin is starting to snuggle up next to her.  They never did this before the super soft snuggly blankie.

Time for me to put on the Jammies and curl up with a good book.

Yep, it’s a blizzard…January 3, 2014

Too much snow coming down outside.  The dogs are NOT happy with it at all.  Neither am I.

I have shoveled the back steps and sidewalk three times already and it looks as though I never touched them.  My back is not thrilled with me at the moment.

If you are in the snow as we are,  snuggle in and stay warm!  You all have a good one!

Who shook the snow globe?

It looked and felt like we were inside a well shaken snow globe all day.  Yes, if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you know I like one snowstorm a year, after that, all bets are off!

We’ve had too many and too much now.  It can stop.  The dogs are even ticked off about the snow.  You have to boot them out the door.

The Curmudgeon is having trouble walking in the crap in the yard.  He is not liking that white stuff either.

Therefore, if you are the person who is shaking the snow globe, I ask that you STOP IT!  To the rest of you, you all have a good one!

A picture is worth…what?

So the snow finally got here…

HPIM3459Taken through the kitchen window.

The snow began to come fairly steady by the afternoon yesterday.  At one point, I looked out the window to see this fat squirrel sitting in the tulip poplar, using his tail for a hat.

I had to call The Curmudgeon to the window so he could also get a laugh.

We didn’t get a lot of snow, we’ll see what happens over night and into the day.  This is NOT my favorite weather.

I dragged out my winter boots and warmed them on the radiator.  Believe me I was glad to have them when I took the dogs out because both of them decided it was playtime.  Dogs and their first snowfall of the year are like kids.  By the third snowfall they are more like me.  ‘Let’s see how fast I can do this.’

You all have a good one.  We’ll be hunkering down and keeping warm.

I can do without the snow and ice.

We did have a few days of unseasonably warm weather and of course that tends to lull one into a false sense of security.  I hadn’t as yet put the liner in my good jacket and had taken my hoodie out of my old jacket again so I could wear just the hoodie in the ‘warmer’ weather.

In the last hour the temperature dropped ten degrees and shows no sign of stopping.

Even though it has turned to plain old rain again, I know that in a few more hours there’s ice, sleet, and snow in store for us.  Yuck.  At least Texas got snow before we did.  😉

Spring? Where?

HPIM2853

Woke to this crap again yesterday.  Really?  Again?  Color me grumpy.

You all have a good one and please, think Spring!

More friggin snow

Oh, for Pete’s sake.  As if the snow we had the other day wasn’t enough, Mother Nature decided we needed an even heavier jolt, topped off with sleet, freezing rain, and rain.

We had planned to go out to dinner for my birthday yesterday.  However, after leaving an afternoon appointment with The Curmudgeon not feeling all that great, seeing the snow begin to fall, we decided maybe we ought to put it off for a day or two.  Good thing we did.

It didn’t take long for the snow to start to come down fast and furious.  How happy I was to be safe at home…sort of… I hate cooking and doing dishes on my birthday.

You all have a good one!

We had snow today…yeah, not thrilled.

Double whammy on its way

We have 6 to 10 inches of snow predicted with this double whammy storm coming through.  As I wrote this line in an E-mail I thought it might make a good opening for today’s post.

I am NOT looking forward to a large amount of snow.  The Curmudgeon and the dogs aren’t either.  We have had enough.  Winter can end any time now.

I’ve blessed my snow shoveler AJ from AJ Wildflowers every time she’s cleared our walks.  I am so glad we found her.

I think today calls for plenty of hot coffee, warm snuggly clothes, and 65 lb dogs on laps.   The evening should consist of a stick the ribs sort of dinner and a glass of wine before bed.

You all have a good one, stay warm and safe!
