Tax Season
Dang, it’s here again isn’t it? This year we’ll take the MIL’s papers along with us when we get ours done and have hers done too. We did it last year because she was ill and now this year she’s in the hospital recovering from her nasty fall. Speaking of nasty falls, I do hope VP Biden’s mother recovers quickly from hers.
My neighbor already has her tax return. Normally we have ours by this time too but with all the running about we’ve been doing we’re running late. Dear Hubby made an appointment for us to get ours done so at least that much is out of the way. We need only show up with our paperwork and the woman who does our taxes is finished and has them filed electronically in fifteen minutes. No wonder we keep going back to her.
It’s a shame that there are no deductions for pets and their veterinary bills. Gavin’s surgery for the aural hematoma costs us a pretty penny.

I would love to write off the surgeries for the dogs that is a great idea lol. I did my taxes this year extra early and the IRS froze my accounts saying I owed some back taxes. Turns out that they were wrong but I had to do all the leg work to correct it. Took me days on the phone with 3000 different people and 200 different agencies to get it figured out. Then they took 10 days to unfreeze everything and I had to submit more paperwork just to get a letter that said “oop our bad you are in the clear now”. I think my phone number is probably red flagged by now because by the end of it I have to admit I was not the most pleasant person on the phone.
It is nice yours goes so easy. Sorry about the rant it is a bad Monday here and had to get something out.
No problem with the rant, I understand how frustrating that can be.
I’m probably red flagged on phone calls for a few places I’ve talked to about my MIL’s bill problems. That’s why DH took over doing that–my polite language skills began to go rapidly down hill.
