Be careful what you wish for
My gardens were looking dry over a week ago and I was hoping for a little bit of rain. I said a little rain. I didn’t mean monsoon season. We are now into our ninth day of rain. It’s been pouring all night. The yard is turning into a swamp and the Koi are thinking of going exploring. Even the frogs seem depressed with all the rain, probably because the bugs are in hiding. I don’t think they make umbrellas for flies or galoshes for beetles.
Dear Hubby mowed the grass the day before the monsoon hit and the yard looks as though it’s grown several feet. If this keeps up much longer, I’m going need a machete to get from the back door to the pond. My flowers are thrilled with all the moisture, but then so are all the weeds. The weeds are like an army of rampaging hookers attempting to take over the garden beds.
We thought we’d fixed the leak in the basement. It hadn’t leaked for over a year. However, tonight it has sprung forth anew. It looks like it’s back to the drawing board on that repair. I think Gibbs from NCIS has the right idea. Maybe I should be building a boat down there.

Good Lord, the whole east coast must be getting it, we’ve had rain for the past week. It’s gonna be fun parking motorhomes on the grass for the dog show next weekend it if doesn’t stop soon here!
No kidding. I’ve been to shows like that. The Devon dog show is notorious for being one of the muddiest shows. I miss my old Toyota Tercel wagon, when everyone in the big 4wd vehicles were stuck up to their axles that little 4 wd got me out of there with no problem.
I think I’ll start on that boat. 😉
Been raining in NY for a week too – horrible weather – i live on the water and the waves are breaking over my dock into my yard.

I’ll be in Niagara County in July for a wedding. I do hope it will be clear and dry then because the wedding is planned for outdoors. 😉
As I recall, that boat is a good 40 cubits in one direction – you might want to measure the basement door!
Once had a pair of handmade aircraft wings hanging from my living room ceiling for the winter. The builder hadn’t measured to see if he could get them into his basement Before he built them. They went in through my patio doors without problem.
The big question on NCIS was how Gibbs managed to get the boats out of his basement. A friend of mine has a swing in her living room but your the first person I’ve known who has had wings hanging from their ceiling! 🙂
