Rainy night rainy day…

My plants are happy.  We’ve had rain, rain, and more rain.  The dogs aren’t happy they don’t like wet.  I’m not happy because I’m typing this up in between thunderstorms—not my favorite weather.

We did need the rain, if only so I didn’t have to water the gardens.  It was beginning to look as though I might before the rain began last night, and has continued throughout the day and into the night again.

I took the pups out for their last chance for the night out a few minutes ago.  Patty went out first, she hates rain, and she thinks she’ll melt in the stuff.  She cringed out the door, her tail tucked under, and clamped so tightly against her belly, I wondered if she’d actually untuck it long enough to pee.

Then Gavin had his turn although he’s not as theatrical as Patty he does show some disdain for the rain.  Rather than dawdle he was done quickly and back in the door like a shot.

Earlier in the week, I’d thought about penciling in cleaning the kitchen floor on Thursday—not going to happen with the pups tracking in.  I’ll wait until the mud is gone.

If you want to join OWAS (operation Whack a Squirrel ) go check out Tank’s Bloggie http://tankcolnar.blogspot.com/

  2. We got the peppers in right before it rained – but it didn’t really rain enough – I never know whether to run out and give the plants more water as I’m always afraid of overwatering – now we’re having sunny weather so guess it’s time to get the hose out! At least this year it’s a very small garden so not much trouble. Cheers!

  3. Rainy season is here. We’ve been getting our daily soakers each afternoon. As long as The Geezer doesn’t botch my meal schedule, I’ve got it timed so I don’t get wet on potty breaks. Is that a possible solution for Gavin and company? Arf, arf.

  4. This crew of Bullies love the rain, they’re like pigs in mud! Have you tried to email Tank about signing up for OWAS?

    • Woodrow, Sweetie and MJ took care of it for us. Guess Tank’s site didn’t like our cookies–and they are so yummy we hate to part with them unless we have to…
      Thanks!
      Gavin and Patty!

  5. No rain yet. Shame, I’m looking forward to a break from watering and filling up the pigs’ wallows. The downside will be the dogs. Mine also object to being booted outside last thing in the rain. Picking up a Labrador to physically put her outside is worse than the endless buckets of water needed to keep the pigs cool!

    • Lugging all that water must keep you in shape. However, when lifting the Lab remember lift with your knees not your back… 😉

Once Gavin is out the door he doesn’t seem to mind the rain and he dawdles which means I have a very wet dog when he comes in. I swear Patty tries to dodge the raindrops.

  6. Hee hee, my JRT is a raindrop dodger as well. My first JRT never cared about the rain but when he got older, he would stand in the doorway, lift his leg and pee out the door. He stayed nice and dry, the girls were all jealous!
