Where were my manners?

Dear Hubby was trying to get an electric cart unplugged at the grocery store today so he could do some shopping with me.  A very rude man pushed past him and almost knocked him over.  I have to admit it now; I did stick my foot out and trip the man.

I grabbed his arm to help balance him.  “My goodness!  Are you okay sir?  You sure did take a nice trip there.”

He shook my hand off his arm.  “I’m fine.  Must’ve tripped on the edge of the rug.”

“Yes that can happen when you’re in a hurry.”

     He rushed away.

I shrugged at DH and said, “I don’t know what his problem was Hon.  It seems that lately my manners have become appalling.  He mustn’t have wanted my help.

Dear Hubby drove past me and said, “You don’t fool me, I saw what you did.”

“He didn’t.  And he quite deserved it.”

DH grinned.  “You’re right he did.  Let’s see, we want the bread aisle, right?”

  1. I am mystified by how these things happen. I was at a major mall with a friend who uses a walker. A family came along behind us and the male beer belly started making comments about people not being there if they can’t walk. Apparently, he lost track of where he was in space since he was just about to shove my friend, “Oops…keep my balance” when he went flying across the floor.

Oddly, my cane seemed to feel the need to hide behind me. And, blissfully the family sailed on ignoring their male sprawled on the floor.

  2. too funny – you gotta defend your man – just like he would defend you

    • You betcha! DH seldom goes shopping with me because he has so much trouble getting around that there was no way I was going to let the rude man get away with his behavior. I’m going to hell, LOL!

  3. you don’t have any idea how many times that i’ve wanted to do that. Good for you lol

  4. A serious lack of consideration for our fellow man–not just for those with problems getting around, but those of us who are hale and hearty as well–seems to be an epidemic in our country. Everyone wants to be first.

I’ve lost track of the number of times someone has bulled past me, stepped in front of me, or almost run me down (No easy feat, as MW can tell you) just to get somewhere or something before me.

Now, MW, why isn’t my post at the top?

    Just kidding.

    • Um, maybe because it goes by the time you posted? And, it takes time for me to approve everyone.

Definitely NOT an easy feat to bull Dave over since he’s very very tall and makes me look as if I’m standing in a four foot deep hole.

      😉

  5. Hurrah! Sounds like he deserved it 🙂

  6. Oh my! That sounds like something I might do… I frequently get in trouble from Seth for doing and saying things he thinks I shouldn’t!

  7. Yeah, I find as I get older I’m not as apt to restrain myself any more.
