It came from the north

A cold front brought wind and rain mixed with snow.  The storm didn’t last long.  However, while it was here the rain and snow pelted sideways hard and fast.  Gavin and Patty rang the bells to go out.  I opened the door and they saw the rain.  They beat a hasty retreat.

The pups no longer wanted to go out.  I got those ‘are you insane?’ looks from them.  They hadn’t been outside in hours and yet they decided they could wait.

Patty took the couch and Gavin, his chair.  For several hours neither one moved.  Dear Hubby went up for a nap.  I worked on my book.  All was quiet.

Gavin rang the bells to go out.

  1. Sounds like home – big tough Boomer of 120 lbs had me convinced that when it came to holding it or going out in the (UGH) rain, internally he was made up of ancillary bladders. He’d only go if I entertained him by putting on my big rubber ducky raincoat and boots and we went out together. Of course that was all balanced by his huge heart, so what can I say.

  2. I know just what you mean by those looks! Dram used to give them to JW.
JW would open the door saying, “Walkies” and Dram would look at him as if to say, “OK see you when you get back” 🙂

  3. Elena, yes, we do love our dogs don’t we?

Mari, long story maybe I need to post it? My dogs ring a string of sleighbells when they want out. It’s a tradition passed down from dog to dog and it works!

Granny Anne, don’t you love that look?
