For what are you thankful?

I promised Dave, that sometime this month I’d do a post on what we are thankful for, so here goes.

I’m thankful for every moment with my Dear Hubby, the love of my life, may we have many more years ahead of us.  I’m thankful that I’m healthy.  I’m thankful that we have a roof over our heads, our mortgage is paid, and we have food on the table.  I’m thankful for the love of two silly dogs.

I’m thankful for the love and support of my wonderful Aunts and Cousins.  Have I told you all lately how much I love you?

I’m thankful for all my wonderful friends who never fail to lift my spirits.  I love you guys too.

I’m thankful to be able to follow my own path in life.

I’m thankful to be who I am, all I’ve experienced—the good and the bad, who touched me, who I’ve touched, and for those who have gone before me.  I’m thankful for the joys of living and the lessons of loss and grief.

I’m thankful for the people who take time out of their day to read what I write here.

  1. That is so very beautiful – thank you for sharing with us.

I’m thankful for still being here in spite of the odds. For Billy and Mr. Beckett who keep me laughing. And for dear friends, near and far.

  2. Except for the first two, in no particular order:
    That I live in America.
That brave men and women don the uniform of our country and defend our freedoms, sometimes at the cost of their lives.
That my wife still puts up with me.
    That I am healthy.
That my parents were with me for a very long time (50+ years) and were healthy right up to the very end.
That my brother-in-law is more my brother than my in-law.
That my children never gave me a single sleepless night and grew to be healthy, productive adults.
That I have a roof, clothes, and food.
    That I have friends.
That when I needed help, others stepped forward to give it.
That when others needed help, I could step forward and give it.
That things maybe didn’t always work out the way I wanted them to, but always worked out for the best in the long run.
That I am a better person through what I learned from others.
