Writer, writer burning bright

One (or rather 4) of the best things about a Pennwriters conference is that our published authors are so approachable.  The speakers beg you to ask questions.  They make you work like crazy in the workshops.  AND, for participating in his sessions Tim Esaias rewards you malt balls.  I had two.

The conference kicks you into high gear for three days.  You come home fired up and ready to write.  People like Dave can plop their butts into their chairs and write like crazy.  People like me have to go back to reality and unpack,  feed the dogs, take them out, write checks for bills, take the dogs out, cook dinner for DH, eat, and then, hopefully, sit down to write.  It didn’t happen that way.  When I sat down to write, it was almost one in the morning because after dinner I fell asleep in my chair with Gavin.  Remember, I was sleep deprived.

I turned on my computer and checked my E-mail.  Dave had E-mailed twice, once that he’d already done some rewriting and the second time to show me even more changes.  I wish I could be the hare with my writing like Dave.  No such luck, I’m the tortoise.

  1. Sounds like the conference was a great experience. Even if you can’t use it straight away, it will surely come in handy over the next few days.

It was, but where were you? We looked for you.

  2. You may be the tortoise, but in the end that’s who won. hee hee hee

Yeah. So there Mr. Hare, take that! 😉

  3. The only reason I got all that done was I caught a cold at the conference and felt too crappy by the time I got home to do anything but hunker down in my writing chair and write.

I hope you’re feeling better because do you remember all that sneezing you did? Cough cough sneeze…. thang you berry much….sneeze!

  4. Glad you had a good time, I’m sure you learned a lot in that short time. I’m expecting great things out of you, I know you can do it. In the meantime I’ll sit here tapping my foot in anticipation of your first published book, lol. Take your time, I don’t want to rush you but HURRY UP!!! LOL

Gee, maybe I should start playing Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’ while I work.

  5. So sorry. Here’s a tissue.

    Thanks

  6. Besides, you’re my friend, and I like to share things I have with my friends.

    You are so kind! AHHHCHOOOO!

  7. Oh, I so get the time challenge – why I disappear on occasion.

Hi Cuz! I call the PW conference my four day vacation.
