Never grocery shop when you are hungry

Moreover, never grocery shop with your husband when you are both hungry!  Geez, I bought more than the usual snacks with him along with me.  I sent him off in his electric cart to find coffee and creamer.  He came back with that and a ton of cookies, blocks of cheese, salami, and various duplicates of things I already had in my cart.  I sent him away to ‘put some of that back.’  He did.

Nevertheless, we spent much more than I’d planned to spend.  I’d gone in the store with a very small list and yet I came out of the store with five bags of groceries.  Next time I leave him at home and snack on something before I go.

  1. we do that too sometimes and when I turn my back Devoted Spouse dumps all kinds of junk food into the cart. I try to use a list and I also try to leave him at home. LOL

Normally, I go by my list. This was NOT supposed to be a normal grocery trip, it was supposed to be for a few necessaries.

  2. That’s something I’ve lived by for years: NEVER go shopping with a man and NEVER go shopping hungry. Both carry equal weight, btw. LOL Also, those people who pass out samplers are looking for those people who go in to the store hungry…more of a chance their items will be purchased.

Thank goodness I shop a discount grocery store where they never have people with samples!

  3. We usually try and have lunch before we go grocery shopping or we will buy out the store.

Food beforehand would’ve been a good idea but we didn’t do that. LOL!

I can’t point a finger ~ I tm my husband with updated items to buy while he is at the grocery store all the time! 🙂

One reason I NEVER have my cell phone on when I go shopping–he’d be sure to call.
