Don’t tell anyone but Patty likes to have her teeth brushed

After the last vet dental bill on Gavin, and the availability of a new doggie toothpaste at the vet’s office, Gavin and Patty get their teeth brushed every night.  It’s funny to watch them.

Patty is first.  She ducks her head down as low as possible, making me have to bend and reach, but if you look at the other end, her tail is wagging like crazy.  Once I get her jaw in my hand, lift her lips, and start brushing her tail wags even faster.  However, that’s not how I know she likes it.

Gavin is next.  He ducks.  I catch.  I brush.  Done.  Except that every single time Patty comes over and tries to get a lick in on his teeth.

Hehehe!  She likes the beef flavored doggie toothpaste.

You all have a good one!

  1. Great. You brush your dogs’ teeth. This is very important for their overall health. Alex, my girl, does not mind at all getting her teeth brush, but then I’ve been brushing her teeth since she was a puppy. Funny post:)

Some people think I’m crazy for brushing their teeth. I had neglected them for a bit after my heart attack but we’re back into a regular schedule now. I just get such a laugh at her because she tries so hard to make it look as though she doesn’t like it but that wildly wagging tail and trying to lick Gavin’s teeth when I brush his is a dead give away.
