Noooooooooooo!

I knew I didn’t want to step on the scale.  I can’t believe it, I gained two pounds.  Excuse me while I go to a corner, curl into a ball, and sob.

I’ll do another ten miles on the bicycle later today.  Weights and yoga sufficed yesterday.  I did get G to join the gym so I’ll have an exercise buddy at least twice a week.

I won’t let this beat me.  Next weigh in is in a week…

You all have a good one.

  1. Don’t just go by your weight. Check your measurements, too. You may have replaced some ‘soft’ tissue – fat – with muscle, which is ‘denser. If your muscles were sore the day after you worked out, it means you’ve ‘destroyed’ some muscle cells, each of which will be replaced by 2 in the healing process.

  2. Don’t panic!! First, muscle is denser and heavier than fat, so with all that exercising you SHOULD expect your weight to go up at first. Second, and this is something I do; I ‘reward’ myself with treats for all my exercising a.k.a. sabotage myself. Yes, I reach for that chocolate drink, or a cupcake, or something like that because “I worked out and earned the extra treat”. So, don’t panic, keep up with what you’re doing, it WILL work! And, watch for those sneaky behaviors…

Don’t worry about the scale. Judge your weight loss by how your clothes fit. That scale will move downward. Don’t fret and keep off you good work!!

  4. The scale is NOT your friend.. NACHO FRIEND!!! Ask your doctor or trainer to not show the scale results, or discuss them, with you. Your measurement, clothes’ fit, energy level, attention from hubby and friends (those will be different, btw.. haha) ……..those things are important factors to pay attention to. The scale and that “weight” number.. those are things to avoid like the worst plague to ever hit human beings. Trust me on this one.

You GO GIRL!!! Continue to move and groove and get rid of the fluff. Notice I didn’t say “lose” it. You don’t want to put it somewhere you will find again. Get RID OF IT!! 🙂
