What an absolutely beautiful garden! My mother is a gardener and she would just put a tent up in your yard and move in! 🙂 We have a lot in common I see! I am a long time writer too. Gorgeous pictures. What you call a flowering almond is actually genus prunis cisterna or flowering plum I believe. It is one of my favorite bushes/trees as it can be either depending on how tall you want it to grow.
It came from my Aunt’s nursery, it is a bush, and was marked flowering almond. That’s all I know. 😉
Hmm, then I’d have to see it up close and personal. are the leaf edges smooth or serrated? Do the flowers have some red to them on the edges? These pics are great too. I’m taking a photography class at the college here (adult ed class).
