Warning: this post might make you cringe.

It felt like I spent hours in the periodontist’s office yesterday. To clean my teeth they need to numb the crap out of them. I have some very ‘hot’ teeth. Well, at least at my age, something about me is still hot. So there I was getting scraped, and cleaned for what seemed like forever and The Curmudgeon was stuck waiting in the waiting room for me. Yet, I still managed to joke with the hygienist and the Periodontist. Would you believe it was The Curmudgeon who was sweating it all the time I was in there? Can you say phobia?
I have to go back for some deeper work–yikes–the scraping of the roots. It’s going to take two visits, the first in October and the second in November. I am not thrilled. I had this done ten years ago. However, at least by then I should have a new car and The Curmudgeon won’t have to suffer in the waiting room.
Then we start talking about implants to replace the three missing teeth. When I mention it the first one they think I want replaced is the front tooth. Hey, surprisingly enough I am more concerned about the two missing molars. I like to comfortably chew my food.
A short post tonight
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Wow, I almost fell asleep without posting tonight. I have no idea why I am so sleepy all the time as of late. Maybe I have need of another medication adjustment or something.
Today it’s off to the periodontist at two to have another cleaning. The Curmudgeon is driving since my van won’t start again. Yikes! I hate riding with him, he scares the crap out of me.
You all have a good one.

I bought new furniture!
Posted by doggonedmysteries
My furniture is a total wreck it needed replacing for a long time now. I took The Curmudgeon to the store to see what I’d picked out on my foray with Annie. He really liked the couch, found a lounge chair he liked better, and helped me settle on a chair and ottoman that would suit the house.
Then we charged it and it arrives on Saturday! He figures we might as well, once the MIL’s house money is out of escrow we can write a check for whatever we owe on the charge.

Shopping therapy
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Two weeks of being shut in with The Curmudgeon had me desperate to go for a walk yesterday. Imagine how completely ticked off I was when my van wouldn’t start. I called Annie and begged her to come get me.
“I NEED to get out of the house!”
She came and got me. Instead of going for a walk because the heat and humidity were up again, we went for some shopping therapy. I found the furniture I want for my living room. The perfect couch, a lounge chair for The Curmudgeon, and a chair and 1/2 with ottoman for me. I’m taking him in on Wednesday so he can see them.
We also went to Micheal’s and were tickled to find they are getting the Halloween stuff out. Yeah, I bought a few things.
You all have a good one!
Tooth is going bye bye today
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I’ve had teeth extracted before so I know I’m not going to be feeling wonderful for several days. Therefore I am taking a slight vacation from posting on my blog. I’ll be back sometime next week so keep checking back!
You all have a good one today and for the rest of the week.

Where has my energy and time gone?
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I really dislike when things get ahead of me. It then seems to take forever and more energy than I have to catch up. The garden is a mess and I haven’t the energy and the temperature is not conducive to working out there. I hate having my garden look so crappy. It needs a ton of weeding done and a good layer of mulch put down.
Don’t get me started on how far behind I am on housework and writing. I have all the good intentions in the world about getting things done, but before I know it, days have passed me by.
The Curmudgeon’s mobility scooter has died and he’s completely stuck in the house making for an even more curmudgeonly Curmudgeon. I have no idea how to repair it and when he asked the company about it they blew him off–how wonderful.
*Sigh* I hope you all have a good one!
Not a Mastercard moment… Oh wait, it will be….

Having to get up an hour earlier than planned to have to dash to oral surgeon’s office because he had another place to be=pissed that there’s an hour gone I’ll never get back.
Paying $93.00 for a ‘consultation’ which was five minutes of the oral surgeon’s time=very unhappy
Not having to pay for ANOTHER x-ray because I raised a stink about it=maybe a little happy
Having a tooth extraction and bill for $226.00 looming in my future=very, very unhappy.
Knowing I might get a few days of pampering out of it=priceless
You all have a good one!
Short post today.

Well, I did it. Cracked a molar. I’m so glad I finally got in to see my dentist who just got back from vacation. He’s sending me to an oral surgeon to have it extracted. However, all his fooling around that tooth to see what was going on, has me in some pain so I’ll be heading out early.
You all have a good one!
Lovely day for walk.
Posted by doggonedmysteries
Yesterday was the perfect weather for a walk in the park. It was warm but we had a lovely breeze to keep us from over heating. The humidity we’ve had lately was gone, hurrah!
We did the short route though because G’s knee was bothering her but we did get in a mile and a half. I do enjoy our park and hated to see what Saturday’s storm did there. We were checking out the storm damage while we walked. There were several trees that lost large branches.
G says quite a few trees in the cemetery sustained some damage too. Her husband is working to help clear the many downed branches.
When we arrived home the pups wanted me to take them out in the yard, they too are enjoying the change in the weather.
You all have a good one!

Spoiled dogs love the AC
Posted by doggonedmysteries
As I figured, we still have fireworks going off around here. I wish they’d either blow off a hand or blow up all they have left all at once. I am tired of hearing them. It’d be so darned nice to be able to sit outside at night and enjoy some peace and quiet…If only. I know that at least three neighborhood dogs are traumatized from all the noise. My goodness you fireworks idiots, I hope that makes you proud of yourselves.
We’ve had nine mighty hot days in a row and expect the worst of the heat to hit us this weekend. I am not looking forward to triple digit temperatures.
Our pups are spoiled rotten. They love the air conditioning! I take them outside and they rush to get done so they can go back into their nice, cool house. Like I said, spoiled rotten. However, if we didn’t have AC, The Curmudgeon would most likely be in a hospital by now. It is far too hot for him.
You all have a good one and stay cool!

July is here already
Posted by doggonedmysteries
June ended with great sorrow in the family. Losing Aunt Janet was a huge blow to all of us. She was always such a little dynamo, full of enough love for anyone who showed up on her doorstep.
And so July begins, with plenty of heat and noise to start us off. We’ve already had nightly illegal fireworks going for two months around here and I’m hoping they manage to explode them all by the fourth so we don’t have to suffer through them for the rest of the summer. Yes, I know that is a pipe dream. At least the noise doesn’t bother Gavin and Patty like it does many dogs.
I dream of having tons of inspiration and creativity burying me over the next several months so I don’t have time to dwell on sorrows. It’d be nice to finish all my projects.

Break is over
Posted by doggonedmysteries
I probably should’ve taken a longer break but I promised I’d be back today and so I am.
My dear, dear friend Elena is in the hospital and they put a pacemaker in yesterday. Please keep her in your thoughts for the next few days. I understand they will release her on Wednesday. I have a candle burning for her.
I am feeling a slow release of anxieties. It will take a little while, but that huge weight of stress that sat on my shoulders for so long is already beginning to lighten. I know that once I get all the bills caught up and we send off the final few checks on the MIL’s bills, I will feel much lighter.
It’s a one step at a time process.
You all have a good one!
